Each of these farms is run by a family who has been in the business for many generations. Since 2005, they have been working together to ensure a bright future for their families and consumers alike.

Cushman Farm: Franklin

Together, these farmers work to help connect the local community and the farmers that produce their food. They enjoy serving their products to customers and making the connection that sometimes gets lost with grocery shopping.
The Farmer’s Cow Calfe & Creamery
Each farm produces and sells products on their own land, but they have a communal headquarters in Mansfield called The Farmer’s Cow Calfe & Creamery.
Here, you can sample ice cream flavors, treat yourself to a delicious lunch, or take advantage of the unique milk bar. There is also a general store where customers can purchase products from all of the farms. These products include milk, ice cream, eggs, cider, and juice.
It’s open from 7am to 9pm daily, with different hours in the summertime. Be sure to stop by for breakfast, lunch, or just a delicious snack.
Connecting Connecticut Residents to Local Food
The farmers at The Farmer’s Cow banded together for a common cause: to connect Connecticut residents to fresh, local food that would benefit the community.
In addition, they want to add a friendly face to the people who serve the food. This way, customers could see that the food comes from a good, friendly family instead of a far-off corporation.
Each family farm realized that customers wanted to know where they could buy fresh milk that their local farms produced. Their goal is to connect consumers to those local foods and to show people where it comes from.

The Farmer’s Cow Debuts New Maple Milk
The Farmer’s Cow has officially debuted its first ever seasonal flavor: maple milk.
This comes as part of a brand new line of Naturally New England flavored milk. The line will produce flavored milk inspired by the natural seasons New England offers. Maple milk is the first.
Maple sugar season inspired this first new flavor, and so it’s infused with sweet Vermont maple syrup. This syrup blends perfectly with fresh whole milk.
The only added sugar in the maple milk is the maple syrup itself. No artificial flavors, no corn syrup, and no additional added sugars are involved in the process.
Along with the maple milk, The Farmer’s Cow has also produced a line of maple cream flavored coffee.
The maple milk and coffee are available for a limited time. You can purchase them from February to the end of March and you can also find them at select local food stores in Connecticut.
