Blue, green and yellow – any combination of these three shades will make a beautiful card. Don’t believe me? Try it! For this week’s Color Challenge at the Pals Paper Arts, Michelle Gleeson has selected Old Olive, Dapper Denim and So Saffron. What a wonderful combination! I skimmed my collection of images to see what I could use in a Fall-themed project. I landed on Cookie Cutter Halloween from Stampin’ Up!’s 2016 Holiday Catalog. Yippee! Here’s my card:

Tips, Tricks and Reminders
Cookie Cutter Halloween. Have you had the privilege to flip through Stampin’ Up!’s 2016 Holiday Catalog? My customers have begun to receive them, and the feedback I’ve received is amazing. This little scarecrow gave me the perfect opportunity to use these three colors together – blue pants, green shirt and yellow, straw body (all colored with a Blender Pen). This set pairs with a Cookie Cutter Punch that’s also available in the new catalog. What a great pairing! You can click on either of these pictures to see the items in my online store and additional projects by Stampin’ Up!’s concept artists:

Detailed Floral Thinlits. Last week, I shared a super-simple, ultra-sweet project with the Detailed Floral Thinlits (you can see that project here). I used the same Thinlits in this project – do you want to guess how I incorporated them? Here’s a peek at the Floral Phrases bundle while you make your decision:
Floral Phrases Bundle, Stampin’ Up!
Did you guess it? Of course you did. I used the Edgelits Die in the top, left corner of the photo above to crop the Old Olive panel and again on the Dapper Denim panel (in the same direction) so that they fit together perfectly like a puzzle. It created a perfectly simple, filled with shape backdrop for my festive scarecrow.
Added Texture. You might not be able to see it in the first photo, but I’ve added a lot of subtle texture to the background panels on this card. I created a speckled sky by lightly stamping Touches of Textures with Dapper Denim ink (stamped off a couple of times first) and a textured ground by stamping grass from In the Meadow in Old Olive (stamped off once). These small additions can really add a lot to a simple card.
