The Eagles are in the playoffs (!) and the first round playoff game is this Saturday night at 8 p.m. And while the game is at home, tickets are pretty hard to come by… and it’s going to be freezing, so we wholeheartedly endorse grabbing some friends and watching the game at a nearby watering hole inside where it will be warm.
As to which watering hole, you’re going to have plenty of choices. If you want to watch with a few hundred fellow cheering fans, we suggest the bigger options like Xfinity Live and Chickie’s and Pete’s. Just be prepared to get there early if you want to grab one of the best places to sit. And there are a number of other sports bars in and around Center City that present good options for places to watch the game.
Beyond the traditional sports bars, pretty much every bar with a TV will have the game turned on Saturday night. However, some of these bars might not have the sound on, since 8 p.m. will be right in the middle of Saturday night dinner service.
Recommendation: Call the bar you want to head to beforehand and ask if they’re going to have the sound on. Most places will turn on the sound if enough of their patrons are asking for the game sound to be turned on.
So now you have a few days to make your plans. And as you can see in the video above, the Eagles view themselves as crashing the NFL’s playoff party and they are inviting all of their fans to help crash it with them. The Eagles are asking their fans to extend their New Year revelry a few more days into the weekend and keep the party going this Saturday night when the Birds take on the Saints.
