A week after the announcing details of upcoming new album, Moh Lhean, Why? have today shared a new track, ‘This Ole King’.

The alt hip-hop/indie project, fronted by Yoni Wolf, are set to release album number six on March 3rd. It’ll be the band’s first album since 2012’s Mumps, Etc. It is also the first fully home-recorded WHY? album since 2003’s Oaklandazulasylum, made mostly in Yoni Wolf’s studio and co-produced by his brother Josiah.

You can stream album opener, ‘This Ole King’, below.

Although never afraid to transmit warmth and positivity through his music in the past, Wolf is perhaps best known for his self-deprecating lyrical approach – often letting us in on the details of some kind of dark and cynical therapy session. With Moh Lhean, however, it seems Wolf has developed a sunnier, more peaceful outlook.

Still, one thing remains; delightful and intricate arrangements that sparkle as they accompany Wolf’s ‘sour-sweet croon, deadpan poet’s drawl’.

Moh Lhean is due for release on March 3rd via Joyful Noise Recordings. Pre-orders are available, here.

The band will also embark on a US tour in March. See dates below.
