To celebrate the release of Total Time, the debut album from Toronto psychedelic electro act Doomsquad, Vulture Hound invited the band to compile our latest Guest Playlist. Formed of siblings Trevor, Jaclyn and Allie, Doomsquad peddle a catchy brand of transcendental dance-pop informed by the likes of French intellect Georges Bataille and Genesis P-Orridge. Along with their new album, the band are getting ready to hit the UK next month, with appearances at Brighton’s The Great Escape festival on May 21st and London’s Moth Club on May 26th (full tour details below).
We’re thrilled to be adding two new members to our live band: Josh and Jesse Hasko from Brooklyn, New York. They contributed to this playlist. We each selected 2 tracks to add to the mix. It’s eclectic and represents what we’ll most likely be jamming to in our tour van this spring. – Doomsquad.

Eartheater – Homonyms
This continues to be a go-to song for late-late after-after time.
Harriet Brown – MBC
This is what the future and the past sound like, at the EXACT same time.
Chanti Darling – Stars (Take One)
Harmonies, smooth grooves, perfect tones. Daytime or nighttime, it’s perfect. Best to listen to this song in the sun.
Country – Africa, What You Doing With The Bottled Water
One of Montreal’s most eccentric projects. Two heart breakers — Chef Beaver Sheppard, and artist Dave Witten — originally from Newfoundland, make crazy synth pop. (Listen here).
Petra Glynt – Sour Paradise
Alexandra Mackenzie AKA Petra Glynt is an activist, maker, and incredible musician, building layered beats that speak truth to power. (Listen here).
Tenderness – We Lay Our Broken Sorrow At Your Feet
Chrissy Reichert is probably one of the best kept secrets in Toronto. She doesn’t put out new music very often, but when she does, everyone freaks out. (Listen here).
Bizzarh – Dragon
These elusive ladies need to record an album. They have everyone eagerly waiting, and feed us once in a while with a hot track like this. Smooth, blissed-out, hypnotic, next wave stuff.
Drake x Dinamarca – 10 Elásticos (via NAAFI)
The north meets the south in a smooth cut via NAAFI, one of the hottest electronic labels going right now. A little flavour of the 6 laid over a hot tropical beat. Works every time.
Not The Wind Not The Flag
They are a free-jazz psych duo who make music that makes you feel like you’re swimming in the warmest ocean, under the moonlight. It’s transformative and takes you on subconscious journeys through your own mind and body. Similar vibes to Alice Coltrane’s Journey in Satchidananda. (Listen here).
Horse Lords – Interventions (Album)
Repetitive African-inspired guitars, intricate and mathy time signatures, and weirdo sax tones… mesmerising. (Listen here).
