Manage geospatial data, use commercial of-the-shelf software (e.g., ESRI) to develop utilities/applications to increase the efficiency and business intelligence of corporate and site teams, support team members with specific but variable specialized geospatial services.

Manage geospatial data, inclusive primarily of GIS but also CAD and specialized engineering software

Use commercial of-the-shelf software (e.g., ESRI) to build utilities and mobile applications for field data collection for a variety of use cases, as well as map services to visualize and make use of the field data

Provide as-needed geospatial support to a group of Engineers working primarily in the fields of geotechnical, water resource, and mine tailings engineering

Liaise with other corporate and site groups (e.g., GIS, IT) to ensure consistency of geospatial data management across the enterprise

Perform other duties as required

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Geography or related field and at least four (4) years of experience with GIS software; OR

Master’s degree in Computer Science, Geography or related field and at least two (2) years of experience with GIS software

Experience building and deploying ArcGIS Server and Mobile applications

Experience in Python

Understanding of technical and logistic issues related to data storage and servers

Ability to process geospatial data into different formats for use in other specialized engineering software packages

Familiarity with LiDAR and photogrammetry surveys and processing of resultant orthophotos and point clouds

Working knowledge of spatial interpolation concepts and application

Understanding of survey concepts and experience working with custom survey datums

Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, to a diversely educated audience

Flexible; willing and able to perform a variety of tasks

Ability to prioritize tasks and work well under pressure
