The Plant Director of Cambodia Diamond Polishing Factory has overall responsibility for the factory operations. He / she develops organisational and operational strategies to ensure the final product meets established Tiffany & Co. quality standards while maximizing the value of the diamond and facility capacity. He / she also has overall responsibility for staff management and development, local recruiting, administration of the facility and acts as a liaison and company representative to local stakeholders.
The Director reports to the VP of Manufacturing for Laurelton Diamonds and is required to maintain relationships with and leverage support from local government officials, Laurelton staff across the global Laurelton network and the Laurelton corporate functions of finance, human resources and security.

Laurelton Diamonds, a subsidiary of Tiffany & Co, is a rough diamond and trading and manufacturing firm with diamond manufacturing and polishing operations across the globe including Belgium, Vietnam, Mauritius, and Botswana. The Company procures rough diamonds and manages the worldwide supply chain that cuts, polishes and supplies finished stones to Tiffany. As part of that supply chain, Laurelton Diamonds operates diamond cutting and polishing factories as well as gemological laboratories.

The Role
Operational Strategy and Implementation:
Establishes and executes manufacturing strategies using Laurelton methodologies; establishing critical measurements
Produces polished melee diamonds that meet Tiffany expectations by formulating, installing, and enforcing good manufacturing practices; developing and improving production and engineering processes, procedures, methods, and techniques; enhancing the application of staff; designing production planning and control systems and procedures; enforcing established quality assurance standards, procedures and methods
Forecasts and budgets anticipating requirements, trends, and variances; measuring and analyzing results; initiating corrective actions
Understands key process issues and works with the Diamond Expert Group to make sure process improvements happen
Uses organisational knowledge to maneuver through formal and informal channels to get things done quickly and effectively
Inventory Control and Capacity Requirements:
Obtains required materials and supplies by developing, auditing, and evaluating materials management systems, policies, procedures and controls; managing inventory
Meets capacity requirements by understanding capacity requirements, identifying and evaluating options; and implementing plans to fulfill capacity needs
Staff Management and Development
Coaches, develops and mentors team
Promotes team spirit and works collaboratively to achieve team goals
Utilizes performance management process to set goals and assess development needs for each individual report
Community Liaison:
Act as company liaison to the community while ensuring the company's values are upheld and local customs, aspirations and procedures are observed and respected
Safety and Social Accountability
Develops and implements Laurelton's safety management system within each operational area
Ensure plant complies with Laurelton's corporate social accountability standards
The Requirements
Bachelor's Degree; primary degree or concentration in business, operations management or engineering preferred
10+ years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment
relevant experience in a diamond manufacturing environment would be considered an asset
An ability to effectively execute strategy, influences others, and support /create organisational change
Ability to manage the financial profitability for an organisation
Ability to design and develop operational policies, procedures and systems required to effectively execute strategy
Capable of staffing, structuring, and maintaining a productive team of highly skilled employees
Powerful communication skills both written and verbal
