Spares Specialist

12 Week Fixed Term Contract

Spares Specialist will be responsible for a short term cataloguing project to identify and organise a large range of spare parts for the operation. There will be some supervision of junior staff required.

The Company
Our client is an industry leader in the provision of EPCM and contract operations to the Global Mining Industry. They have recently expanded their African market focus and now seek to recruit a number of key roles on short-term placements at a client site in the Southern coal belt within Africa.

The Role
This is a challenging role overseeing unidentified and uncatalogued spares on site and in laydown yards.  There is a critical deadline in this Project and the role will need to be completed efficiently and on time.  The incumbent will have additional resources to assist in pulling spares in and out of containers, shelves etc., so will need to be able to direct and motivate the resources supporting the project.

Key responsibilities:

90% Managing spares identification & cataloguing

10% Manage resources to support the project

The Requirements

Trade qualified Mechanical

10 years minimum experience in a mining process plant (preferably a CHPP plant)

Experience working in an expat environment

Portuguese language would be an advantage

Excellent attention to detail and record keeping

Exposure to SAP

Capable of identifying parts and validating part manuals

Experience with Krebs pumps, vibrating screens, ABON crushers, conveyors, centrifuges, stackers & reclaimers, hydraulic power packs, magnetic separators, horizontal belt filters, cyclones and pipework

The Rewards
These roles are on a contract basis for an immediate start and will be paid competitive hourly rates including a roster of 7 weeks on / 2 weeks off, 6 weeks on / 3 weeks off, 12 hours per day, 13 days per fortnight (14th day is unpaid R&R). You will be employed through our South African Labour hire partner.

In addition to the benefits previously outlined incumbents will be entitled to a 5% site allowance and 10% country allowance, travel time into country – up to a maximum of 8 hours paid per travel day.  Two days paid for mobilisation and two days paid for demobilisation as well as a Per diem applicable for the travel days to cover expenses incurred in travel.  Accommodation is in a hotel near the mine site, which includes food.  Transport is provided to and from site via bus each day.

All preferred applicants would be required to successfully pass a company Medical.
