Bonnie Ilene Hippensteel, 80, of Warsaw, Ind., passed away at 7:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 2, 2013, at Kosciusko Community Hospital of Warsaw.

She was a lifetime area resident of Kosciusko County, Ind., and was a 1941 graduate of Leesburg High School. She was a homemaker, worked at Robinsons Grocery, Thomas Dime Store and sold Radelle Cosmetics for a number of years. Bonnie also worked at the Big Boy Factory in Warsaw.

She square danced with her husband for 22 years and enjoyed her children, especially her grandchildren.

She was born on Oct. 4, 1922, in Kosciusko County to Wilbur D. Rule and Jessie L. (Long) Rule. She was married on Oct. 4, 1958, in Silver Lake, Ind., to James Stewart Hippensteel, who survives in Warsaw. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles LaVine, who was killed on March 14, 1945, during World War II.

She is survived by her son: Michael LaVine, Montana; daughter: Renee (Jim) Guy, Warsaw; five grandchildren: Kimberly (Gordon) Best, Montana; Matthew Guy, Jacob Guy, Erin Guy and Ethan Guy, all of Warsaw; five great-grandchildren: Colton, Zachary, Kaylynn, Jenae and Adam; and her sister: Leona “Oney” Denney, Silver Lake.

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 5, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Rd., Warsaw. Her funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 6, at the funeral home and officiated by Pastor Rod Valentine. Burial will follow at Etna Green Cemetery in Etna Green Ind.
