Warsaw, Indiana native and local college student Katie Allen has been selected as a contestant to represent Indiana and compete in the Miss Indiana USA pageant in November in Indianapolis. The winning Indiana contestant will represent Indiana in the 2014 Miss USA Pageant in Las Vegas, Nev.

Contestants are encouraged to conduct fundraising activities to cover pageant-related expenses. Allen is rounding out her fundraising activities with Center Stage Collaboration-Fundraising Event from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, at Tourmaline, 208 S. Buffalo St., Warsaw.

Doors open at 7 p.m., with a runway show beginning at 7:50 p.m., featuring a large selection of fall fashions from TJ Maxx, and local high school models. Also featured at the event will be live music, food and raffles. There is a $3 admission fee for each attendee.

Allen recognizes the support of local sponsors of the event: Tourmaline, Whalen Creative Group, and TJ Maxx. “Their support will help me reach fundraising goals to cover general expenses involved with being a contestant and representing our county,” stated Allen.
