(SPOT.ph) Beaches, especially those in the Philippines, are a whole lot of fun. After all, who can resist surfing the glassy waves, riding a glass-bottom boat from one reef to another, or going in circles with a jetski? But, sometimes, all you want to do is drop down a nice water slide and into a pool with a big splash.

We round up 10 water parks in our country—from a simple three-storey slide to an exciting water bowl. Happy splashing!

The latest addition to the eco-friendly Astoria Palawan is a one-hectare water park that can provide endless fun for adults and children. It has a Surf's Up Pool which produces waves in six varying settings, the St. Paul River Ride which goes around the entire water park, three types of slides at the Velocity Aqua Slides, and Vortex Slides where you can experience a different kind of rush while being swirled and splashed in corkscrew-like slides. The little ones can experience the same thing in a smaller (and safer) version at the Tumbling Buckets Kidzone.

If you don’t want to go far from Manila but are still itching for a water-filled adventure, then Aquaria, only three hours away from the Metro, should suit you. It is a tropical wonderland with 525 meters of fine white sand, cove pools, a sunken pool bar, and its highlight: a three-storey high pool slide. Inflatables are by twos, which makes the giant slide a perfect activity for thrill-seeking couples.

CML Beach Resort and Water Park was opened in 2014 by Batangueño Casiana Mayuga Lätti, who has always dreamt of settling down on an island and setting up a kubo by the beach. A full-service resort isn't exactly the same thing, but it now provides a beachside respite whenever her family comes home from Dubai. CML also features an infinity pool fronting the sea and a big pool connected to a three-storey water slide. Both pools are just less than four feet, making them safe for kids.

Samal Island (a.k.a. Island Garden City of Samal)—with its vanishing islets, marine sanctuaries, and pristine beaches—is a paradise on its own. What better way to enjoy this tropical island than with a breathtaking stunt down the Sea Slide that goes straight to the sea. You also have the option to enter a water tube and let it take you through its circles and curves until you plunge into a big pool.

Island Cove, once known as Covelendia in the 1970s, is one of the pioneers in the hotels and resorts industry especially in Cavite. Crossing the bridge that separates it from the busy national road might just feel like you're passing through a warpzone that ends up in a 36-hectare Mediterranean-inspired island. It has its own fishing grounds with a restaurant, an eight-lane bowling alley, a wellness center, cabanas and hotel rooms, and even a number of open-air and air-conditioned function rooms. But the star of it all is the two-layered lagoon-shaped swimming pool with four giant slides. Oceania also features a rubber-matted splash park and giant inflatable slides where kids can just goof around.

Fontana is another oldie in the leisure park industry, but that doesn't mean that it can't keep up with the latest water park attractions. It has a Wave Pool that can produce waves up to three feet in height, the 500-meter long Lazy River, the Pirate Ship Pool with six kiddie slides, the Water Cottage Slide Pool and a network of big and small slides as well as water guns and water buckets, and the Big Horn Slide Pool where the brave-at-heart twists and turns in a circular motion before dropping into an inner tube. At the center of it all are the three Giant Aqua Thrill Slides where you can either do a body slide or slide with a floatie.

For some wholesome fun, there's a grand swimming pool with water basketball and volleyball, a plunge pool, and two infinity pools.
