What you should know: After losing to Trinity, 56-41, in the quarterfinals of the WPIAL tournament, South Park has taken the long road to reach the Class AAA semifinals. The Eagles defeated Ambridge, 66-48, in a PIAA play-in game, but they were relegated the No. 6 slot from the WPIAL in the PIAA tournament after falling to Blackhawk, in the PIAA Fifth-Sixth Seed game. In a PIAA first-round game, the Eagles avenged two losses to Trinity with a 44-41 victory over the Hillers. Victories over District 6 champion Forest Hills, 52-26, and Northern Lebanon, 33-30, the fifth-place team from District 5.
Player to watch: Allison McGrath, a 5-10 senior guard, was the team's leading scorer during the regular season. She averaged 18.7 points per game. In the Eagles' 33-30 victory over Northern Lebanon, McGrath, a Maryland-Baltimore County signee. had a game-high 11 points in a defensive-minded contest.
