With spring ball wrapping up across the nation and summer approaching quickly, fans with Florida Gators tickets hope their team is ready to have a huge rebound season. The SEC proved its depth and talent last year, with Auburn and Missouri both coming out of nowhere to match up in the conference championship game. However, few fans would take the strength of the SEC as an excuse for Florida’s struggles last year, as Will Muschamp and the Gators finished with a highly disappointing 4-8 record. The offense bears the brunt of the team’s struggles, as Florida finished 113th in total offense and 112th in scoring offense. The quarterback position was a mess for the team, as starter Jeff Driskel missed most of the season with a broken leg, and his replacements did not perform well in his absence. Despite their lack of offensive production, the Gators maintained their reputation of fielding a stout defense, ranking 15th overall in points allowed per game. Despite the continued success on the defensive side of the ball, Muschamp cannot afford another similar season, as fans with Florida Gators tickets demand a more competitive program.

Fortunately for fans with Florida Gators tickets, Muschamp did a great job on the recruiting trail this past year, hailing in a great class, including six players ranked in ESPN’s top 150. Their top recruit, defensive back Jalen Tabor, has a chance to contribute immediately at cornerback with the departures of Marcus Roberson and Loucheiz Purifoy to the NFL Draft. OL David Sharpe, one of the top-rated offensive tackle prospects in the country, could also get a look along the offensive line as Muschamp hopes to get the offense going. Finally, with all the uncertainty at quarterback heading into the 2014 season, Will Grier could get a chance to prove himself. A terrific dual-threat prospect, Grier has the arm and the athleticism to be the Gators’ answer at signal caller for several years, and could be in line to start this season should Driskel struggle. With a new infusion of talent into the program and veterans looking to erase the memory of last year’s disappointment, Florida could be a team to watch out for in 2014.
