MCCOMB — A.J. Wagner was 3 of 3 from 3-point range and hit 13 of 14 from the free-throw line for a game-high 22 points as Patrick Henry dropped McComb 57-49 in a nonleague matchup Monday night.

The Patriots (4-12) were 6 of 7 (85.7 percent) from beyond the arc and made 29 of 41 (70.7 percent) free throws in the game.

The Panthers finished 16 of 52 (30.8 percent) from the field, including 6 of 30 (20 percent) from 3-point distance, and committed 16 turnovers.

Kyler Seemann added 13 points for Patrick Henry.

Clay Grubb had 13 points and eight rebounds, while Trey Hanes added 13 points for McComb (9-6).

CAREY — Sydney Wentling and Hannah Draper combined for 30 points as Carey downed Riverdale 51-40 in a nonleague battle of teams atop their respective conferences.

The Blue Devils (16-1), who lead the Midland Athletic League standings, were 7 of 17 (41 percent) from 3-point range, with Wentling hitting four of them on her way to a game-high 16 points.

The Falcons, tied for first in the North Central Conference, finished 2 of 16 (13 percent) from beyond the arc and were outrebounded 28-19 in the game.

Jordyn Wright tossed in 14 points and grabbed six boards, while Bre Parish notched 12 points and six rebounds for Riverdale (14-4).

BLOOMDALE — Kristen Curtis poured in 19 points and Elmwood outscored Gibsonburg 52-24 after the first quarter Monday night en route to a 58-34 victory in a nonconference matchup.

The Royals, who improved to 12-5 on the season, outrebounded the Golden Bears 37-22 and forced 27 turnovers in the game.

Gibsonburg finished 14 of 41 (34.1 percent) from the field and was just 2 of 5 (40 percent) from the foul line.

Curtis also grabbed seven rebounds and had three assists, while Tiffany Hillard snatched five steals for Elmwood.

Danielle Fork and Amanda Shammo each finished with 10 points for the Golden Bears (5-12).

Megan Maag scored 20 points and Olivia Maag had 11 for Pandora-Gilboa. Olivia Maag and Hunter Hermiller accounted for all five 3-pointers, and Megan Maag and Shae Watkins combined for nine of P-G’s 12 free throws as the Rockets improved to 10-8 overall and 4-2 in the PCL.

Continental got another big game from Paige Ordway. The senior guard scored a game-high 21 points for the Pirates (9-8, 3-3 PCL).

The Senecas outscored the Chieftains 16-7 in the first quarter and took a 39-21 advantage into halftime.

Taylor Ritzler led the Senecas with 17 points and Kate Brickner added 12.

Courtney Burns led Hopewell-Loudon (10-6 overall, 3-4 MAL) with 13 points, while Brooke Arbogast had 10 points and seven rebounds.

BLUFFTON — Leipsic used a big edge in the first quarter and an even bigger edge from the line to post a 47-38 win over Bluffton in nonleague girls basketball action on Monday.

Leipsic blitzed Bluffton 13-2 in the first quarter and never looked back in notching its 16th win in 19 games.

Shaylynn Morman scored 14 points, Kelly Nadler 13 and Haley Gerten 10. The Vikings converted 19 of 31 free throws; Bluffton was 5 of 9 from the line.

Sarah Schriner and Paige Buroker scored nine points each to lead the Pirates (10-7).

VAN BUREN — Patrick Henry created some breathing room with a 15-8 advantage in the third quarter and the Patriots held on for a 54-48 nonleague girls baksetball win over Van Buren on Monday.

Alyson Prigge scored all 12 of her points from beyond the 3-point line. Heather Gibson nailed three 3-pointers and added 11 points and Kristin Bostelman had 10 points and nine rebounds for the Patriots (5-11).

Lauren Wise scored a game-high 20 points for Van Buren (3-15). Paige Sudlow turned a double-double for the Black Knights with 11 points and 10 rebounds.

FOSTORIA — Ali Rutter dropped in 16 points and Kamryn Troike posted a double-double of 15 points and 12 rebounds as St. Wendelin defeated Upper Scioto Valley 41-29 in nonconference action Monday night.

The Mohawks (13-4) led just 12-11 at halftime and 23-21 after three quarters, but used an 18-8 run in the final period to put the game away.

St. Wendelin hit 15 of 21 (71.4 percent) free throws and outrebounded the Rams 27-12.

Shelby Spradlin finished with 11 points, five rebounds and four steals for Upper Scioto Valley (9-7).

TOLEDO — Toledo Whitmer’s KeShyra McCarver, the 2012-13 player of the year in the Three Rivers Athletic Conference, turned in a player-of-the-year kind of performance on Monday in leading the Panthers to a 50-26 TRAC win over Findlay.

A 5-foot-10 post player, McCarver, scored three regular baskets, stepped outside and nailed a 3-pointer, and was a perfect 9 for 9 from the line for a game-high 18 points. The IUPU-Fort Wayne recruit was Whitmer’s only player in double figure. But the Panthers put 10 players in the scoring column in climbing to 12-4 overall, 6-3 in the TRAC and staying half a game back of second-place Lima Senior (14-3, 7-3) in the league standings.

Josyln Bendt scored eight points and Jacey Hardesty had seven for Findlay (2-16, 2-9 TRAC). The Trojans were 10 of 15 from the line but managed just seven field goals, two of them 3-pointers.

The Lancers (7-11) were 20 of 50 (40 percent) from the field, while holding the Musketeers to 13 of 34 (36 percent) for the game.

Hannah McCleery finished with 12 points and five steals and Ashton Bowersock added 11 points and nine rebounds for Lincolnview.

Fort Jennings (2-15) was led by Cassie Lindeman’s 10 points, while Jenna Calvelage and Gabby Clippinger each handed out three assists.
