There’s a full slate of volleyball action in the Blanchard Valley Conference. Conference leaders Liberty and McComb will square off tonight at McComb.

Arlington travels to Pandora-Gilboa in another key BVC contest.

There is also plenty of prep soccer, tennis and golf on the schedule today as well.

PANDORA — Three Arlington players had at least nine kills Monday as the Red Devils defeated Pandora-Gilboa 25-20, 25-21, 25-23 in a battle of state-ranked Blanchard Valley Conference squads.

Lindsay Werst had 12 kills and Britnee Johnson 11 for Arlington (15-1, 4-1 BVC), ranked No. 7 in the Division IV coaches poll. Lauren Willow had nine kills and five blocks, while Erin Helm added a team-best 20 digs.

Pandora-Gilboa, ranked 15th in the Division IV coaches poll, fell to 11-3, 2-3 BVC.

Abbie Dauterman had nine kills with four blocks, Courtney Cramer had eight kills and 11 assists and Rebecca Kirian slammed eight kills with four aces and four digs to lead the Redskins at the net.

Madie Ramsey dished out 34 assists and Alisha and Ashley Baird added nine and eight digs respectively for the Redskins (10-5 overall, 2-3 BVC).

Hardin Northern’s Molly Wilson was 11 of 11 serving with 16 assists and eight digs.

Addy Bame and Holly Wilson both had six kills and Julia Poling was 7 of 8 serving with nine digs and one ace for the Polar Bears (5-6).

Aubry Von Stein was 16 of 16 hitting with four kills for the Hornets (10-4, 3-2 BVC), and Megan Ritter had a team-high six kills. Ritter and Von Stein each had eight digs. Kendra Tuttle served four aces, was 84 of 85 setting with 20 assists, and had four blocks. Adrienne Erford had five kills, while Jordan Hector and Anna Curth added four.

Vanlue fell to 3-13, 0-5 BVC.

KENTON — Tori Wyss scored 11 points with 12 digs and Lindsay Walden added 11 kills and eight points to lead the Bulldogs to a 25-19, 25-22, 26-24 nonconference volleyball win over Hardin County rival Kenton on Monday.

Carlee Marshall slammed 10 kills, and Rachel Wildman had eight kills to power the Ada offense. Claire Toland recorded nine digs and Morgan Sutton registered 28 assists for the Bulldogs (13-4).

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Carrol Pauley recorded 14 assists and added 11 kills for Riverdale as the Falcons spiked Upper Scioto Valley 23-25, 25-16, 25-21, 25-22 in Monday’s nonconference volleyball match.

Kaye Lynn Wise added six kills with four digs, Taylor Farmer had 13 assists with three kills and three digs, Cara Pauley had five aces and five digs and Ashlynn Walter had 10 kills. Sierra Vaughan chipped in 11 digs and three aces as the Falcons improved to 3-10.

Annie Lindeman had eight kills for the Big Green (4-9). Kara Schimmoeller had 16 digs and Lexie Thorbahn nine assists.

MARION — Fostoria fell to 3-13 as the Redmen dropped a 25-16, 25-11, 25-18 nonconference volleyball match to Marion Harding Monday night.

FINDLAY 0

Perrysburg scored twice in the first 6:30 of the match and defense dominated the rest of the way as the Yellow Jackets blanked Findlay 2-0 in nonleague girls soccer action at Elmer Graham Stadium on Monday.

Abby Sattler put Perrysburg up 1-0 just 3:40 into the match and AlexX Brown added a second goal less than two minutes later.

Perrysburg (5-2-2) finished with five shots on goal while Findlay had two.

Olivia Bair made three saves for the Trojans (7-2-2). Elizabeth Alexander had steal and seven intercepts and Erica Tracy a steal and four intercepts to lead Findlay’s defense.

SYCAMORE — Delta’s Libby Munger scored two goals and Allison Pawlicki added one as the Panthers blanked Mohawk 3-0 in a nonconference girls soccer match on Monday.

WAPAKONETA — Mackenzie Custer scored a goal and added an assist to lead Wapakoneta to a 3-2 Western Buckeye League girls soccer win over Ottawa-Glandorf on Monday.

With the win Wapakoneta improved to 9-3 overall and 3-3 in the league while the Titans dropped to 7-2-3 and 3-2-1.

RAWSON — Mason Waltz scored midway through the second half Monday on an assist from Austin Brown and Cory-Rawson made the goal stand up as the Hornets downed Tiffin Calvert 1-0 in a North Central Ohio Soccer Association boys game.

Kyle Rossman made three saves to record the shutout for Cory-Rawson (4-6-1, 3-3 NCOSA). The Hornets outshout Calvert (0-7-1, 0-5 NCOSA) 25-5.

LIMA TEMPLE 1

LIMA — Lucas Maag scored twice and Joel Beining once to lead Ottoville’s boys soccer team to a 3-1 nonconference win over Lima Temple Christian on Monday.

Taylor Zwiebel scored for the Pioneers (4-6). Ottoville (9-1-1) finished with a 10-7 edge in shots.

PREP GOLF: Kalida wins PCL crown

KALIDA — Kalida’s Zach Erhart tied Miller City’s Jared Fuka for the best round of the day and led the Wildcats to the championship of the 2013 Putnam County League golf tournament held Monday at Country Acres Golf Club.

Erhart and Fuka both carded 77s and were PCL co-players of the year. Their teams battled for top honors as well, with Kalida posting a 329 total to edge Miller City (336) for the tournament title.

No other schools were in contention. Leipsic took third with a 376 total, Fort Jennings used a fifth-man scorecard playoff to beat out Columbus Grove for fourth after both turned in 378s, and Ottoville was sixth (381).

Kalida got good mid-80s balance from Evan Recker (82), Brady Mathews (84) and Jeff Knueve (86). The Wildcats did not have to use the 88 of Collin Nartker, but Kalida’s No. 5 man had the shot of the day when he scored a hole-in-one on the No. 5 hole.

Davis Lammers added an 82 and Austin Lammers an 84 to lead Miller City. Recker, Davis and Austin Lammers and Mathews joined co-players of the year Erhart and Fuka on the all-PCL first team.

Second-team all-league honors went to Knueve and Nartker of Kalida, Ottoville’s Wesley Markward (86), Columbus Grove’s Logan Diller (88), and Sam Vetter (89) of Fort Jennings.

HURON — Liberty-Benton’s Jared Neiling tied for fourth individually with a 76 to lead the Eagles golf team to an eighth place finish at the 23-team Edison Invitational at Sawmill Creek Resort on Monday.

Bellevue edged Sandusky Perkins for the team championship 322-326. Liberty-Benton checked in with a 342.

Adam August fired an 82 to back Neiling. Tyson Neiling (91), Nick Streacker (93) and Wyatt Young (95) also played for the Eagles.

Port Clinton’s Joey Kurtz was the medalist with a 1-under par 70.

PREP TENNIS: Findlay blanks Celina

CELINA — It was a Findlay High School sweep at Celina on Monday as the Trojans’ girls tennis team blanked Celina 5-0 in a nonconference match.

It was a solid win for the Trojans who improved to 5-11 on the season while dropping Celina to 10-6.

Findlay’s Savannah Hosey rolled to a 6-4, 6-1 win over Katie Gardner at No. 1 singles. Corinne Hoffman outlasted Sasha Jenkins at No. 2 singles 3-6, 6-1, 6-4 at No. 2 singles and Camryn Hessling downed Brooke Sutter 7-5, 6-4 at No. 3 singles for the Findlay clean sweep.

The best match of the day came at No. 2 doubles as Findlay’s Jenna Burget and Rachelle Crow defeated Maddie Cline and Nicole Elston 6-4, 5-7, 7-5 in a 2-hour and 45-minute marathon match.

Erin Bosse and Emma Miller took care of Celina’s Sabrina Smith and Leah Zuercher 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1 doubles.

Findlay will be back in action today with a 4 p.m. match at home against Ottawa-Glandorf.
