Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez has told the French media that the club won’t win the Premier League this year, despite currently being two points clear of Arsenal at the top.
“We are not going to win the league, no. I don’t think we have broad enough shoulders to do it,” Mahrez told radio station RMC. “The big teams will wake up at some point.”
Whilst the league title may be beyond Leicester, Mahrez who has scored 12 goals for his club this season, has said he won’t be going anywhere in January.
“It’s best for me to stay until the end of the season,” he said, to much celebration by Leicester fans.
He added: “If you lose someone like me, Vardy or (N’Golo) Kante, it could hurt the team. I want to continue with the team until the end of the season.”
