The Black Stars have been drawn to face fellow 2018 World Cup campaigners, Egypt and Uganda in the 2017 AFCON group stages.
The draw was held in Libreville on Wednesday and teams were there to see how their path to the 2017 AFCON trophy would look like.
It also featured prominent personalities in African football like the President of the Confederations of African Football (CAF)
For Ghana, the route will have a familiar feel to it as they will face Uganda and Egypt and Mali.
The Black Stars drew goalless with Uganda in the first round of the 2018 World Cup qualifiers and are slated to play against Egypt in Alexandria in November.
Ghana will also come up against Mali who are not new to the Black Stars.
After losing 1-0 to Ghana in the group stages of the 2013 AFCON, they beat Ghana 3-1 in the third-placed playoff.
Defending champions Cote d’Ivoire are in Group C together with DR Congo, Morocco and Togo.
Hosts, Gabon, will head Group A and they will have Burkina Faso, Cameroon and debutants, Guinea-Bissau for company.
Algeria, the seeded team in Group C, will have to go past North African rivals, Tunisia, Senegal and Zimbabwe.
Ghana will be based in Port-Gentil and will play its group matches at the 40,000-seater Stade d’Angondjé (shown below)
The Black Stars Stars start off on the 17th of January against, then they face Mali on January 21 and close the group games out with a huge clash against Egypt on January 25.
Group A will be based in Libreville, Group B will be in Franceville and Group C will have its home in Oyem.
The tournament starts on January 14 and will end on February 5, 2017.
