02:30 - The Ranch - Elisha Cuthbert Joins Cast in a Major Recurring Role

Happy Endings alumna Elisha Cuthbert has landed a major recurring role opposite Ashton Kutcher in Netflix’s multi-camera straight-to-series comedy The Ranch.

Created by Don Reo and Jim Patterson, The Ranch is set on a Colorado spread, with Colt Bennett (Kutcher) returning home after a brief semi-pro football career to run the family business with his brother Jimmy (Danny Masterson). Cuthbert will play Cold’s old flame, a former cheerleader. Debra Winger and Sam Elliott co-star as Colt and Jimmy’s parents.

22:10 - Powers - Season 2 - Michael Madsen Cast as Super-Shock

Powers, the PlayStation series that brings the fan-favorite comic book series to life, has found its greatest hero — and he's a familiar face for fans of Quentin Tarantino movies.

Michael Madsen will play Super-Shock in the second season of the superhero drama, Sony announced Wednesday.

Described as "a perfect physical specimen with an unparalleled presence that catapulted him to global fame," Super-Shock is a Superman-like hero who retired from heroics four decades ago who finds himself coming out of retirement to investigate the death of Retro Girl, as seen in the finale of the show's first season.

22:10 - Esquire Orders Scripted Drama ‘Beowulf’ From ITV Studios

Esquire Network has given a series order to ITV Studios’ “Beowulf,” which marks the NBCUniversal cabler’s second scripted project, Variety has learned.

The series, set to debut next year, follows Esquire’s order for “Spotless,” a dark drama about brothers that bows Nov. 14. The scripted orders are an effort to diversify the programming slate of the channel as it hits its second anniversary this month.

“Beowulf,” a re-imagining of the mythological historical poem, revolves around a troubled warrior who experiences love and loss yet shares a deep binding comradery with his fellow kinsmen. Esquire has ordered 13 episodes. “Da Vinci’s Demons” alum Kieran Bow stars as the title character, with William Hurt, Joanne Whalley, Ed Spellers and David Ajala rounding out the cast. James Dormer wrote the script and exec produces with Tim Haines and Katie Newman.

22:20 - Serial TV Series Based On Podcast Set At Fox 21 With Chris Miller & Phil Lord

Serial is headed to television. Writer/producer/directors Chris Miller and Phil Lord(The Lego Movie, 21 Jump Street) and Fox 21 Television Studios have optioned the rights to the podcast phenomenon co-created and is co-produced by This American Life‘s Sarah Koenig and Julie Snyder and hosted by Koenig. Miller and Lord will develop a cable series that would follow the making of the podcast as it follows a case. The case is TBD but it won’t be the murder of Hae Min Lee that was investigated on the first season of Serial.

22:40 - Sean Atkins Named President Of MTV

NEW YORK, NY and SANTA MONICA, CA – October 1, 2015 – MTV, a unit of Viacom (NASDAQ: VIAB, VIA), today named Sean Atkins as President, overseeing all creative and business operations for the youth entertainment brand and its sister networks, MTV2 and mtvU. A veteran media executive with expertise across disciplines, Atkins joins MTV from Discovery Communications, where he most recently served as General Manager & Executive Vice President of Digital Media and Strategy.

Atkins will report to Doug Herzog, President of the Viacom Music and Entertainment Group. MTV’s programming co-heads, Mina Lefevre, Executive Vice President and Head of Scripted Development; and Lauren Dolgen, Head of Reality Programming and Executive Vice President of Series Development, will report directly to Atkins. The announcement was made today by Herzog.

“Sean is smart, creative, passionate, and remarkably energized about the sea change at hand in our industry,” said Herzog. “The strength of MTV lies in its ability to constantly reinvent, and Sean’s forward-thinking, versatile leadership will ensure our brand and business continue to evolve and deliver for our audience.”

With executive experience at Discovery, HBO, and Yahoo!, Atkins has held leadership positions across development, digital media, production, strategy, marketing, product development, and consumer products. As GM and EVP of Digital Media and Strategy at Discovery, Atkins was responsible for driving the company’s original online video strategy and networks including Revision3, SourceFed, Discovery News, and TestTube.

Atkins was a driving force behind Discovery’s 2012 acquisition of millennial-focused Revision3, among the first strategic acquisitions of a multi-channel network by a major media and entertainment company. He also drove content and product R&D at Discovery, shepherding innovative efforts including Discovery VR and the company’s programming JV with Ron Howard and Brian Grazer, New Form Digital.

Prior to joining the Digital Media team, Atkins ran the West Coast for Discovery Studios, Discovery Communications’ full-service production studio that develops and produces original programming. In this role, Atkins managed development and production of all programming out of Los Angeles, and supervised series including “Penn & Teller Tell a Lie,” “King of the Crown,” “Deception with Keith Barry,” “Home Made Simple,” and “Ultimate Cake Off.”

Atkins joined Discovery Communications from HBO where, as Senior Vice President of Digital Media, he helped conceptualize and build the platform that ultimately became HBOGo. Previously, he was head of programming and development at Yahoo! Entertainment, where he oversaw content development, leading the company’s first comprehensive video strategy and repositioning several verticals to successfully target Millennial viewers.

Before Yahoo! Entertainment, Atkins was acting-COO for Vulcan Programming, a project with Paul Allen's Vulcan Ventures and A. Smith & Co. where he managed the development and creation of a slate of cable networks. Atkins served concurrently as Executive Vice President of A. Smith & Co, overseeing development and production for the company’s broad slate of projects with more than 20 networks.

Previously, Atkins held positions with Warner Bros., Mediaconnex and Disney. At Warner Bros., he headed up programming for Entertaindom, a new division that ultimately spanned all of Time Warner's digital entertainment assets before leaving to become the founding CEO of an ad tech start-up Mediaconnex. Atkins started his career with Disney, helping develop numerous initiatives including the first international Disney Channels, original and co-produced shows, and the Disney/ABC Cable New Media group, which was responsible for managing the cable network's internet and cross-media programming.

22:40 - Grandfathered - Bob Saget to Guest

Don’t worry, you weren’t hallucinating when you thought Bob Saget made a cameo in Tuesday’s Grandfathered series premiere — and he’s coming back for more.
The freshman Fox comedy, which stars John Stamos as a longtime bachelor-turned-unexpected grandpa, will stage a Full House reunion when Saget guest-stars on an upcoming episode.

No word yet on when Saget’s installment will air, but he will play the longtime best friend of Stamos’ Jimmy Martino. Imagine the meta jokes!

ET can exclusively reveal that the Parks and Recreation fan favorite will guest star on next Tuesday's all-new episode of the hit ABC comedy. Offerman joins episode three along with previously announced A-listers, Liam Hemsworth and Christina Applegate.

"Fozzie takes a leave of absence from his job as the announcer on Up Late With Miss Piggy," Prady explained. "So they get Nick Offerman to fill in, and he was a lot of fun."

Sky1 is adding to their burgeoning original drama slate with Hooten & The Lady, an eight episode action-adventure drama series starring Michael Landes (CSI) and Ophelia Lovibond (Elementary) which hails from Death In Paradise creator Tony Jordan and his indie Red Planet Pictures.

Hooten & The Lady is in a similar vein to Indiana Jones and Relic Hunter and tells the story of adventurer Hooten whot teams up with Lady Alexandra Lindo-Parker from the British Museum to track down fabled treasures from the past, including the lost Amazonian golden city of Z, the Buddha’s missing scroll and the lost tomb of Alexander the Great. Michael Landes will play male lead Hooten, while Ophelia Lovibond has been cast as Lady Alexandra.
