06:30 - Hollywood's 100 Favorite TV Shows
Thanks to arrowshieldfan for the heads up.
What's the best TV show of all time? Who knows? This poll is strictly about favoriteshows, the programs people in Hollywood hold nearest to their hearts — that remind them of better times or speak to their inner child or inspire their creativity or just help them unwind after a crappy day at the studio — even if one or two of the programs listed here aren't exactly masterpieces of the medium.
Last year, THR published the world's first movie list based on a polling of Hollywood pros. This year's TV survey was handled in a similar fashion. We asked more than 2,800 industry people — including 779 actors, 365 producers and 268 directors, among others — to choose their favorite series of all time (excluding talk shows and news programs). Although the survey was anonymous, some big names were willing to go on the record. "My favorite is Twin Peaks," says Damon Lindelof, co-creator of Lost (No. 15 on the list, five above David Lynch's mystery). "It quite literally changed the way my brain worked." Mike Hopkins, CEO of Hulu, picks The Sopranos (No. 6). "It's just classic. It had everything," he says. But even when respondents didn't volunteer their own identities for the public, the results of this survey are full of surprises, starting with the show Hollywood chose as its all-time No. 1 favorite.

01:00 - MOVIES: Pacific Rim 2 - Production Halted Indefinitely
Legendary wanted to produce a sequel to del Toro's Pacific Rim, which was made under the Warners deal and turned into one of those films that grosses a lot ($411 million worldwide) while being so costly that a follow-up isn't a sure thing. Sources say Legendary liked that the original performed exceptionally well in China, where the company is heavily invested, but for now the project — which had been ramping up to make a release date in August 2017 — has been halted indefinitely and will be pushed back (if it gets made at all).

00:50 - Law and Order SVU - Season 17 - Whoopi Goldberg and Virginia Madsen to Guest
The NBC drama has tapped Virginia Madsen to play her mother, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Madsen will play Beth Anne Rollins, whom showrunner Warren Leight describes as a "very protective" matriarch. "In theory, Amanda Rollins is her successful daughter. [She's] college-educated, a detective, moved to New York, so of course the mother likes the daughter who has a warrant out for her arrest, has been involved with very sketchy men and has run her life into the ground," Leight tells THR. "Beth Anne Rollins thinks that daughter can't make mistake and Amanda has turned her back on the family."

0:00 - South Park - Season 19 Premiere - Cartman To Make Fun Of Tom Brady
For 18 seasons, "South Park" has become known for addressing issues in pop culture and finding a way to spin it into parody. Wednesday night's Season 19 premiere episode, "Stunning and Brave," will keep that tradition alive as Cartman, Kenny, Stan and Kyle will address Tom Brady, his wife Gisele Bündchen and show some respect for Caitlyn Jenner.
In episode 1, the boys will have a new principal in charge of South Park Elementary. According to a South Park Studios press release, he will make the boys face the damage they’ve done "through their history of racism and unconscious bias."
The promo video for the Season 19 premiere shows Cartman taking a dig at the Deflategate scandal, sounding off about how he's going to "pull a Tom Brady" by appealing his four day detention sentence and ask to get no detention at all

0:00 - HBO orders Comedy Pilot from Pete Holmes
HBO has ordered half-hour pilot “Crashing,” starring comedian Pete Holmes with Judd Apatow attached to direct, Variety has confirmed.
The project, which is loosely based on Holmes’ personal life, follows a sweet, wholesome comedian who is forced to stay on the couches of New York’s finest comics after his wife leaves him. Holmes and Apatow are exec producing, as is their manager, Dave Rath.
Apatow, who has a relationship with HBO as an exec producer of the Lena Dunham comedy “Girls,” is not adverse to exploring his standup heritage. His 2009 film “Funny People,” which starred his former roommate Adam Sandler, explored the dark side of success on the comedy circuit. He is repped by UTA, Mosaic and Ziffren Brittenham.
Holmes’ credits include his late-night TBS series “The Pete Holmes Show,” on which Apatow had appeared. He is repped by WME and Generate.

After a global search to find the perfect actors to play the iconic roles of “Kunta Kinte” and “Chicken George” that spanned 15 locations (Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Congo, South Africa, Kenya, Los Angeles, London, Toronto, Vancouver, Dallas, Austin, Atlanta, New York, Paris and Ireland), newcomers Malachi Kirby and Regé-Jean Page (Survivor, Waterloo) stood out from the crowd. Both Malachi as Kunta Kinte and Regé-Jean as Chicken George showed an emotional depth and understanding of the characters that is critical to the project. Malachi was handpicked by executive producers Will Packer and LeVar Burton, who played the original Kunta Kinte.
Kunta Kinte is a Mandinka warrior who is educated, proud, strong and resilient – all traits that empower him when he is captured by slavers, while Chicken George, Kizzy’s son, is a handsome social magnet who knows how to transfix a crowd with a story, yet doesn’t appreciate what he has until his luck abandons him.
They join previously announced Laurence Fishburne (Black-ish) as Alex Haley, the author of the novel Roots: The Saga of an American Family. Production is underway in New Orleans and set to begin later this month in South Africa.
Multi-award winning Mario Van Peebles (We The Party, Posse, New Jack City) and two-time Oscar® nominee Bruce Beresford (Tender Mercies, Breaker Morant, Bonnie & Clyde, Driving Miss Daisy,) are set to direct nights two and four respectively. They join previously announced multi-award winning Phillip Noyce (Patriot Games, Clear and Present Danger, Salt) and Emmy Award winner Thomas Carter (Coach, Gifted Hands, The Ben Carson Story), who are directing nights one and three respectively. Grammy Award® winner Questlove is also on-board as the Executive Music Producer for the production.
“Roots” is a historical portrait of American slavery recounting the journey of one family’s will to survive, endure and ultimately carry on their legacy despite enormous hardship and inhumanity. Spanning multiple generations, the lineage begins with young Kunta Kinte, who is captured in his homeland of The Gambia and transported in brutal conditions to colonial America, where he’s sold into slavery. Throughout the series, the family continues to face adversity while bearing witness and contributing to notable events in U.S. history, including the Revolutionary and Civil Wars, slave uprisings and eventual emancipation. The story of Kunta Kinte and the women and men who came after him echoes through the history of millions of Americans of African descent, and reveals powerful truths about the universal resilience of the human spirit.
“Roots” is an A+E Studios production in association with Marc Toberoff and The Wolper Organization, the company that produced the original “Roots.” Will Packer, Marc Toberoff, Mark Wolper, Lawrence Konner and Mark Rosenthal serve as executive producers. LeVar Burton and Korin D. Huggins are co-executive producers. Lawrence Konner, Mark Rosenthal, Alison McDonald, and Charles Murray are writing. Dirk Hoogstra, Arturo Interian and Michael Stiller serve as Executives in Charge of Production for HISTORY. “Roots” is distributed internationally by A+E Networks under the A+E Studios International banner.
