Once in a blue moon you come across a brand that just feels like a friend you’ve known for years. A brand that focuses on customer satisfaction and treats their customers like pals. A brand that doesn’t just sell products, but also offers fun games and activities for kids, free printables for mom, and even nursery decorating advice. So it only makes sense that the folks behind the successful personalized goods company Petite Lemon started their venture as friends first. This group, composed of both moms and dads, were driven together by their shared love for design, family and fun and launched Petite Lemon in 2010 to capture and communicate the joy and wonder of childhood.
Founders of Petite Lemon
Petite Lemon offers bright, personalized goods for kids including personalized growth charts (printed on premium papers), décor, 1st birthday t-shirts, big sister t-shirts, big brother t-shirts and more. For Bear’s upcoming 1st birthday, I wanted to find a personalized item that captured this special time of her life. A 1st birthday t-shirt was the perfect piece, personalized just for her. Plus, I love that all Petite Lemon t-shirts are printed and created in the USA!
When the Fun to Be One personalized birthday shirt arrived, I was so excited to see how it came out. It arrived in Petite Lemon’s signature blue tissue paper. Tucked in with the bodysuit was a stack of petite notecards, which was such a nice touch. These little details really make a statement to this mom!
As I unwrapped the tissue paper, I pulled out the super soft cotton bodysuit. I opted for a bodysuit rather than a tee since I was planning on pairing the top with a tutu for her 1-year-old professional pictures. The eco-friendly pink ink was so vibrant and just popped on the crisp white background. And at the bottom of the “1″ was Bear’s name in a pretty cursive.
I often get nervous purchasing things online because I’m worried about the fit, but I felt confident slecting the size on PetiteLemon.com. There is a super helpful size chart that includes all the measurements you need when selecting the correct size. Bear is on the smaller side, so I selected the 6-12 month size (it’s pre-shrunk so I wasn’t worried about it shrinking in the wash), which turned out to be perfect. It was even a little long, but fit perfectly everywhere else. I was nervous that the sleeves would be too long and hit in an odd spot, but I ended up loving the fact that they landed right above her elbows rather than the typical cap sleeve on other bodysuits in her closet.
A few days before the photos, I washed the bodysuit. Petite Lemon included a helpful sticker on the inside of the collar with tips on how to wash item (again, something a friend would do!). It said to turn it inside out and machine wash cold, hang dry (no dryer), and forget the bleach. I followed the instructions to a T (no pun intended) and it came out great!
We were then ready for pictures!
When we slipped the tutu over the bodysuit, Bear looked adorable. The photographer was even able to snap a great shot of the front of the bodysuit!
