Monday, 27 January 2014: GRACE OF MONACO starring Nicole Kidman has been selected to open the world renowned Cannes Film Festival on May 14. YRF Entertainment and Stone Angels produced the film.

The film will screen out of competition in Cannes’ Official Selection and the opening ceremony will be broadcast to a number of participating cinemas.

Directed by Olivier Dahan and Produced by Uday Chopra, Pierre-Ange le Pogam and Arash Amel, who also wrote the screenplay, GRACE OF MONACO will be released worldwide. The Weinstein Company will distribute the film in the U.S.

An ecstatic Uday Chopra said about the thrilling news “I knew from the moment I read the wonderful script, penned by Arash Amel, that we had something special in GRACE OF MONACO and watching Nicole bring that character to life only increased my excitement about the project. ‘Acting Smart your Ticket to Showbiz’ by Tisca Chopra, which talks about the world of Cinema was launched by Imtiaz Ali. The session was peppered with wit, humour and many interesting anecdotes.

Flavours, food and their cultural as well as emotional references were discussed in great taste by the renowned chef Vicky Ratnani, Kunal Vijayakar and Farzana Contractor. While Dr. Rajat Chauhan along with Charles Assisi motivated the audience to look for deeper meaning in life and a happiness that comes from within.

The session ‘Non Fiction hitting hard’ was exciting and controversial to say the least. The audiences sat on the edge of their seats as the lives of Dawood Ibrahim, Karim Lala and Bal Thackerray was discussed by the esteemed reporters Hussain Zaidi, Harish Nambiar and Vaibhav Purandare. Questions like “Does Sharad Pawar lead Dawood Ibrahim or vice versa?” to “Do crime reports get pressurized by the government?” from the audiences was an indication of the palpable stimulation and interest by one and all.

Having worked as a stylist on Band Baaja Baarat and Ladies v/s Ricky Bhel , Ayesha was discovered by actress and producer Shilpa Shetty Kundra who encouraged her to audition for her home production. Ayesha who met with the makers as the stylist of the film had everyone floored when she auditioned for 2 scenes after much coaxing – Ever since there was no looking back.

Confirming the news says producer Shilpa Shetty Kundra,”I’ve trained her, been around for her photo sessions and whenever she shot for the film. Whatever I’ve learned through my career, I’ve passed it on to her. We’ve given her a complete makeover. Even though she’s a stylist herself, I’ve helped her with the costumes.”

Says Ayesha, “I’m extremely grateful to Shilpa ,I never thought I could do it but she encouraged me all the way.She was also very protective of me during the film’s shoot and would keep encouraging me”.

Eros International & ESM’s Dishkiyaoon directed by Sanamjit Talwar starring Harman Baweja,Sunny Deol and Ayesha Khanna is scheduled to release March 28 2014.]

Every story needs a soil, for the characters to be relatable and identifiable. As soon as you add context to the characters their actions emit emotions that makes the storytelling more soulful.
