Gaurang is not ‘doshi’!

In a landmark judgement about on living in relationships, noted Bollywood Producer Gaurang Doshi was finally proved innocent in a case filed by small time actress Flora Saini alias Mayuri and Asha Saini.

On February 15 2007, Saini filed a complaint on February 15 that said she had sustained injuries and a fractured jaw alleging that Doshi assaulted her.

Saini’s contention in court was that since she was living in with Doshi and all those injuries were during the said period, she did not want prosecution, but a claim of Rs Rs 6.15 crores.

Doshi in the meantime has just arrived an out of court settlement with his estranged wife for Rs 2.5 crores.

The court ruled that since Saini was aware that Doshi was already married at the time she was his mistress, she was not at all eligible for compensation and her application was dismissed.

The court (Judge Mrs SC Jadhav) dismissed her contention that she was living in a relationship in the nature of marriage with Doshi and contended that she was not entitled for compensation as claimed by her. The said order in the Magistrate’s Court by the judge Mrs Jadhav now says that Flora’s application stands dismissed.

In court Doshi and his Advocate SS Gandhi however refuted all her claims and said that Saini was interested in making money from the producer.

This is not just Flora’s claim to fame. Flora Saini who was arrested in a fake visa case and for human trafficking makes a comeback to Hindi films in January ironically with a film called Lakshmi which is about human trafficking and child prostitution.

Flora was arrested in Chennai on Tuesday, March 11, 2008 when she tried to get visa using forged documents at American Embassy. She had gone to American embassy along with her assistant Sri Latha (35) to obtain visa and the officials found that she was using forged documents. Police suspected that she was trying to take Sri Latha to USA with her. The officials found contradictory details on the documents and questioned them. However not convinced with the reply, they questioned the actress’ agent Venkat Reddy and he too said to have given misleading details that prompted the Embassy officials to report to police. Following the complaint, the police arrested Asha Saini and the two others. The actress told the officials that she is leaving for USA for ‘consulting some producers’ about a Telugu film. Chennai police headed by Deputy Commissioner Mourya, Assistant Commissioner Ravindran and Inspector Irudhayam are investigating the case. 29 year old Asha Saini’s real name is Flora and is popularly known as ‘Lux Paapa’ for her hit number in Narasinhanaidu. She had acted in many films in Telugu but never made it to the big league. She has also changed her screen name in 2008 to Mayuri.

The Madras High Court then gave her temporary retrieve and granted her conditional bail.

Flora allegedly obtained US visa by deceitful for her make-up woman. The embassy officials detected a fraud in the papers and took Flora into custody. Justice K N Pasha passed the order on a petition by the starlet, asking her to furnish a personal bond of Rs 50,000 and two sureties of the same amount, including one from her mother. The judge also ordered the actress to appear daily before the Royapettah police for interrogation. The case had been registered under sections 468, 471 and 420 read with 511 IPC.

Meanwhile Saini’s entire life and career has been punctuated by multiple controversies and cases.

Saini also turned down a Pakistani film offer which also had ‘Bol’ fame Manzar Sehbai. Flora claims that she was offered ‘French Colony’ to be directed by Sarmad Sehbai and produced by IQ Studio (Pakistan) but the actress rejected the role with a weird reason.

“I was offered the lead role in ‘French Colony’ and actor Manzar Sehbai had approached me personally. But I have seen Pakistani actors come to India for work and when they go back, they talk bad and indecent things about Indians in their Press and Media,” was her refrain then.

Controversially in 2012 Flora was inducted into the Censor Board of Film Certification (CBFC) as a panel member.

When the common man wakes up and joins politics, things change…

(Photos by Siddhant Gill)

Actor Rajpal Yadav, director Vivek Budakoti and producer Rajita Sharma came together for a promotional event of their Pied Piper at Oshiwara, Andheri West.

The recent wake of the AAP has a startling resemblance to Vivek Budakoti’s film Pied Piper based on a common man who suddenly becomes the Pied Piper to the entire nation with his simplistic views and his grass root approach despite the ambiguity on consensus by his critiques.

“We conceived and wrote the film before the emergence of Aam Aadami Party as a creative critique of a democratic circus on display in the current scenario of the country. If you must, then you can find a Kejirwal in my film just like you could find a Martin Luther King or a Mahatma Gandhi in a different avtaar but please carry your sense of humor along. We mean no offense to any ideology, just a satirical approach towards them!” says director Vivek Budakoti.

Rajpal Yadav plays a washerman who becomes the leader to millions of people with the fact that he has no assets to declare, he is clear in his thought and doesn’t mind calling an ass an ass!

Who else can essay the common man better than Rajpal Yadav, who with his common man looks and his humble background has risen to become one of Bollywood’s cherished actors. With that background, the character seemed so perfect.

Pied Piper has traveled across the globe and has over 11 prestigious Festival selections and won the Best Film Award at the recent Delhi International Film Festival.

‘Kamasutra 3D gave rebirth to Mona Chopra’ : Rupesh Paul

The feud between Director Rupesh`s Paul and actress Sherlyn Chopra doesn`t seem to end. Sherlyn and her army of oblivious twitter fans started hurling out abuses to the director, using cuss words that are beyond abysmal. Some of them had no clue about the whole incident but thought, it would be cool to abuse some one who is disliked by their “goddess”. She too, replied and re-tweeted some of their tweets.

According to the sources, Sherlyn gave the recent Kamasutra 3D official promo launch a miss. It raised a few eyebrows and the media present too swarmed the director, followed by a barrage of questions. What he fails to understand is when did she actually quit the movie? She shot the entire movie and was even good to him, and rather had a great rapport with him on the sets. A video of them on the KS3D sets, surfaced on many social networking sites the same day. It showed how both were compatible with each other and shared a good working relationship. The video hardly shows her being harassed by him or any other member present on the sets. She is seen chatting and laughing with him, they even applauded each other.

Another video shows Sherlyn expressing her gratitude to the director for having given her the opportunity to work in his epic film. It was after the movie was completed, on 13 Nov 2013, Los Angeles. She was even quoted saying that it was her first film and without any hesitation, she said “Yes”. She even went on to say that it was a very liberating experience for her from Day 1. So, it`s hard to understand what really went wrong between Appa and her daughter.

Rupesh himself is puzzled as to why she is acting this way.

Rupesh Paul’s statement:

“Sherlyn is completely lying about her involvement in Kamasutra 3D. She has shot for all her scenes in the movie that we ended by September. Hence we had moved on for the promotions to Los Angeles in November where she was equally promoting it. Also she has seen the entire film which she well appreciated. If you date back to her tweets, you will find end number of her tweets where is is proud of her Kama Devi character in the movie and has been boasting a lot on Kamasutra 3D. Then what exact changes were brought in that compelled her to opt out?

She has been stating in L. A. that Kamasutra 3D is the first movie offered to her. Then either she doesn’t regard her previous C grade movies as part of her career under the name Mona Chopra or she is a complete liar.

As a Director, I would never go down to an actress begging on any matter, no matter how much actor power works in Bollywood. I will maintain my dignity in all steps I go ahead from now but at the same time I will make sure that her effort is just so fake”.

‘Darr@The Mall’ To Have Bollywood’s First Gothic Song ‘Pinacolada’ By Ganesh Hegde

The trailer of upcoming scare fare ‘Darr@The Mall’ was unveiled recently and after scaring everyone, the makers of the film are planning to make everyone tap their feet to a groovy number named ‘Pinacolada’, which is a first of its kind Gothic song in Bollywood. The song has been choreographed by none other than Ganesh Hegde and keeping in tune with the theme and vibe of the film, Hegde, who has never choreographed a song for a horror flick till date, came up with the idea of a Gothic look.

The song, which is set in a club, is unique in the sense that it is the first Bollywood number to have a Gothic touch to it. Explaining his reasons, Hegde said, “Though the song is Bollywood, we have tried a Gothic look with it. As the film is a horror flick, we decided that a Gothic look to the song would have a greater impact as the make-up, the costumes and other such details (black leather, silver jewellery and black make-up) lend a very eerie vibe to it, which gels with the theme of the film as such.”

Produced by MSM Motion Pictures and Contiloe Entertainment, ‘Darr@The Mall stars Jimmy Shergill, Nushrat Bharucha, Arif Zakaria, Asif Basra, Nivedita Bhattacharya, Neeraj Sood and other actors.

Richa Chadda Goes Back To School.

Powerhouse actress Richa Chadda, who wowed audiences and critics alike with her performance in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Ram Leela’, will next be seen in Pooja Bhatt’s upcoming film ‘Bad’ and it seems that shooting for the film brought back Richa’s childhood memories during the Delhi schedule.

Sources attached to the unit revealed that some sequences of the film were shot at the Saraswati Puri Nursery school, which incidentally, was the school where Richa studied during her kindergarten days. Talking about this surreal experience, Richa said, “When I landed up at the shoot, I realized it was happening in my pre- nursery school. It was a surreal experience. I started my education from that school. I was feeling at home. It brought back great memories from a time when I was barely four years old. All my brothers had also been to the same school. I met an ice- cream uncle who has been there for the last 50 years. It was a very nostalgic feeling.

The makers of Gunday have lost some of the video footage of the making of the film due to technical glitches. Says a unit member, “The making of the film is something that holds special significance for a film’s cast and crew as it chronicles their journey with the film.

In fact, the video had captured some beautiful moments; it was replete with off- screen incidents that we would have loved to share with audiences. But now the footage has become corrupt and it doesn’t look like it can be recovered now.” The source adds that with young actors Arjun Kapoor and Ranveer Singh playing pranks on the sets, the former had requested a dekko at the video footage of the same. “But when he got to know that the behind the- scenes video is no longer available, he was disheartened. During the shoot, Arjun and Ranveer would even hedge bets on the number of crunches and pullups each could do. Their workout sessions would have made for fun viewing as the duo would often challenge each other. Now a chunk of this video has been irretrievably lost,” says the source.

A spokesperson for the film confirmed the development.
