Mumbai, 18th January, 2014: Europe’s 2nd largest baby diaper maker – SCA has launched a limited collection of designer diapers under its flagship brand Libero titled, “Libero Love Collection”.
Libero took diapers up a notch by introducing its nicely designed diapers with a fashion show walked by tots in the age group of 1.5 years to 4 years. The little ones walked the ramp with Bollywood actress Aditi Gowitrikar enjoying each and every moment in the limelight!
Speaking on the occasion, Cecilia Edebo – Vice President Consumer Goods SCA India and a mother of two children commented, “SCA is excited to be a part of the kid’s comfort and style by launching nicely designed diapers – Libero at India Kids Fashion Week that would also add a smile to parents. Offering the child the freedom of movement, the designed diapers made with natural ingredients including aloe vera, vitamin E, chamomile and olive oil also safeguards the baby’s health skin.”
“Addressing the concern of Indian mothers and combining global experience and best practices with local insights, Libero believes in taking diapers beyond form and function and make them (dare we say) fashionable”, Cecilia continued.
SCA is one of the world’s largest players in the baby diaper segment, with a no 2 position in Europe. In September, SCA announced its plans to set up a manufacturing facility for hygiene products with an investment of about SEK 150 million (around Rs 145 crore) in India. The facility is expected to commence production in 2015.

Kenyan Evans Ruto, Ethiopian’s Dinknesh Mekash sweep titles, Lalita Babbar breaks Indian Women’s course record
Mumbai, January 19: Evans Ruto led a clean Kenyan sweep in the men’s event of the US$ 360,000 prize money Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon on Sunday. The 30-year-old Ruto produced a late surge to break away from compatriots Lawerence Kimaiyo and Philemon Baaru to finish in first place in 2:09:33, just a second slower than the course record of 2:09:32 set by Uganda’s Jackson Kiprop last year. Kimaiyo claimed second place in 2:09:45 and Baaru was 13 seconds behind in third place. Ruto won US$ 41,000 for his efforts, but missed out on the course record bonus of US$ 15,000. Kimaiyo had to be content with US$ 21,000, while Baaru was richer by US$ 15,000.
“The race was good overall, but I am disappointed to miss the record by one second. I felt welcomed in Mumbai and enjoyed the race. Next time I will try for 2.07 or 2.08,” Ruto mentioned.
In the women’s event, last year’s runner-up, Ethiopian Dinknesh Mekash, went a step better by clinching first place in 2:28:08, well ahead of second placed Gladys Kipsoi of Kenya and fellow countrywomen Bizunesh Urgesa. The Kenyan, making her debut, finished with a time of 2:29:53, followed by Urgesa in 2:.30:00. Mekash went home richer by US$ 41,000, while Kipsoi received US$ 21,000 and Urgesa got US$ 15,000.
“Last year it was my first time in Mumbai and this time I was confident of winning. I trained very well in Addis Ababa and happy to win this year,” said Mekash.
Karan Singh maintained the dominance of the Army Sports Institute athletes as he won the Indian men’s full marathon in a time of 2:24:08. Rashpal Singh of Sikh Regiment, Jabalpur Centre came in second with a timing of 2:24:38, followed by last year’s winner, Binning Lynghkoi (2: 24:40) also from Army Sports Institute.
“I am happy to win this marathon. I want to thank the Army Sports Institute for the support I get. They have good facilities, like some good coaches, both foreign and Indian, physiotherapists, conditioners and the other talented athletes,” Karan Singh mentioned.
Lalita Babbar of Central Railway created history completing a hat-trick of triumphs by winning the Indian women’s full marathon in a new record time of 2:50:31, which was a full three minutes better than her time of 2:53:42 she clocked in winning last year. Following the Maharashtra runner were Vijaymala Patil (2:59:58) and Jyoti Gawate (3:02:59) of Prabhani, Maharashtra.
Babbar felt good after the race. “It’s great to set a new course record. I had trained well so I was confident and sure of completing the race in a time of around 2:50,” she stated.
However, Babbar is not certain of returning to defend her title for the fourth consecutive time next year. “I’m basically not a marathon runner. But three years back I gave it a try and came first and that is what motivated me to continue running the marathon. I have only participated in the Mumbai Marathon. But next year I will decide only after the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland and the Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea,” said the Central Railway employee.
The men’s race, aiming for a timing of 2:08, was well within the target in the first half, thanks to the pacers doing their job to perfection. The strong wind on the sea link and the steep Peddar Road Hill on the return leg took its toll as the pace flagged a bit. Ruto, who was in the lead bunch along with his fellow Kenyans, picked up the pace after 35 kms and the race was once again within record time at the 39km mark. Ruto once again changed gears to widen the gap between the other two Kenyans and held on to win.
The women’s race was aiming for 2:25 time and there was a group of around 9 women till the 22km mark, among them all the favourites, running strongly with the two pace makers. The strong wind on the sea link also proved tough for them. At the 26 km mark there were four women in the lead, among them Dinknesh, who was always in control of the race. From 28 km Dinknesh broke clean and ran alone to finish strongly.
The men’s half marathon was won by Indrajeet Patel of ONGC with a time of 1:04:56. Coming in second was Soji Mathew of Railways (1:05.45) and Man Singh (1:05:45) in third place. Central Railway’s Sudha Singh claimed the first position in the women’s event in 1:18:24, while in second place was Kavita Raut of ONGC (1:21:15) and third was Kiran Sahdev (1:21:57).

Mumbai 18th January, 2014 – One of the most eagerly awaited fashion events took off with a fabulous start in Mumbai at the Lalit Intercontinental on 18th Jan. After two years of its conception, the second edition of India Kids Fashion Week, a joint venture by Events Capital and Craftworld Entertainment saw children walk the ramp, emerging as rockstars through their fierce attitude and innocent smiles. It was indeed a kid’s fantasy-world to see cute adorable toddlers in trendy, colorful designer ensembles and edible organic make up. The first day of IKFW saw creations by NGO Khushi, Maxx, Libero, Pooja Jhunjhunwala, Sho Sho Bella, Sheena Creations and Kirti Rathore for F Atalia.
Adding to the glitterati of India Kids Fashion Week, were POGO and Cartoon Network mega stars who walked the ramp for the first time ever! Superhero Chhota Bheem and his best friend Chutki from POGO and uber cool student Kris (from Roll No. 21) and the evergreen Tom and Jerry from Cartoon Network razzled and dazzled on the ramp entertaining kids, parents and everyone at the event.
Day.1 Kick-started by supporting the cause of empowering children with learning disabilities, cerebral palsy and autism through a fashion show organized by NGO Khushi. Mandira Bedi was seen supporting the kids on the ramp.
The commencing show showcased creations by renowned kids wear brand Max. The collection for young girls had lightweight fabrics in a mixed colour palette ranging from monochrome to bubble gum pinks, ochre and blue, spearmint and vermillion while ‘Double denims’ was the theme for little boys’ collection. Versatile TV actor Ali Asgar, immensely loved by all as ‘Dadi’ from Comedy Nights with Kapil along with the hilarious and legendary cat and mouse duo Tom & Jerry from Cartoon Network accompanied the little children on the ramp.
Libero’s show caught maximum attention from the audience: for the first time ever, toddlers between the age of 1.5 to 2.5 years strutted on the ramp showcasing diapers by Libero! This show garnered maximum attention through the models seen on the ramp. The confidence with which the babies walked on the ramp showed promising signs of soon-to-be superstars! Model and Actress Aditi Govitrikar was seen accompanying the mini-rockstars as they promoted their diapers with flamboyance.
The fashion fraternity is very close-knit. While there is immense competition in every professional field, renowned designer Rocky S was seen cheering on and completely supporting his protégé designer Pooja Jhunjhunwalaand Rachna as she showcased her mythology-inspired collection for children. Pooja was accompanied by the biggest Indian superhero – POGO’s very own Chhota Bheem who accompanied the designer and acknowledged his little fans.
Named after her daughter, Dubai-based designer Sarah showcased her collection ‘ShoSho Bella’ which included outfits that make kids feel like little princesses. Inspired by her own princess, the collection reflects the designer’s love and adoration for her daughter.
The show by Sheena Creations created a mood to party and unwind through their collection showcasing partywear for little boys and girls. Ace choreographer Terrence Lewis along with the funny and smart Kris (from Roll No. 21) from Cartoon Network danced along with the party kids on the ramp.
The grand finale for the day one stayed true to its name with Kirti Rathore showcasing her collection dedicated to cancer patients aged between 4-14 years. These little children walked the ramp for Kirti’s show along with celebrities Kushal Tandon, Nandish Sandhu, Angad Hasija and Viveek Oberoi. Who is Pothraj? Pothraj is a wandering servant of Goddess ‘Maree Aai’ who tasks with pains and punishment as penance of torture upon himself on behalf of other’s sins and succour them.People in return give him a charity of grains and alms as prevalent in the Hindu Religious Tradition of Maharashtra.
‘’WAKYA’’…
Ghumya along with his wife Sushi and son Sonya is a wanderer who keeps seeking his livelihood of provision and alms from village to village.
But he did not aspire a gruesome life as an inheritance for his son ,hence he decides to educate his son.His wife too supports him.But father Pandba and mother Rakhma oppose him and remind him of their ancestral tradition.
Not heeding to them Ghumya takes his son to school.But on the advice of Kadambai that he will have shed his wander life and be settled in the village,he puts up his petition to the village Patil (village chief ).
The village chief offers him a house amongst his field for accommodation .
But following this as per the Government Housing Scheme that can provide an individual his own house ,he pursues it to acquire his own home.
But lack of Govt. proofs of Ration card, Identity card ,Birth certificate ,Community proof etc .give him a setback.
At that juncture ,the monsoon prevails and the dilapidated house that Patil had given him turns ruined.
Simultaneously he learns of the Govt.announcement that Govt. is providing a reimbursement as a rehabilitation for all those whose houses have collapsed due to monsoon onslaught .He sees it as his last hopeful opportunity and demolishes the remaining backwall of his house.
But as the house belonged to Patil it’s reimbursement for the house ,would go in favour of Patil is told to him by the Gramsevak.
Sadly he returns home.
Now what?
Will Ghumya ever get a house of his own?
Will he be able to educate his son?
Will the traditional wagon of wandering life befall his son as inheritance?

Alia sings for Highway
She’s not only the film’s leading lady but Alia Bhatt has sung one of the songs in Imtiaz Ali’s soon to release film, Highway. The music of the film has been composed by the maestro A R Rahman and he’s got Alia to sing a very soulful lullaby, Sooha Saha. Zeb Bangash, of the famous Pakistani duo Zeb & Haniya, has also sung in the song.
In the film Veera (Alia’s character) and Mahabir (played by Randeep) take the road and traverse through six states of northern India. As the journey moves from the plains of Panjab to the hills of Himachal, Veera sings this lullaby, which reminds Mahabir of his childhood. Both Imtiaz and Rahman agreed that if Alia sang a stanza herself, it would add more poignance to the scene.
“We have this lullaby, Sooha Saha in Highway..Imtiaz said Alia has a great voice and I didn’t trust him.Then she learned the song and sang to me and I was pretty impressed with her natural ability too. We guided her a little bit to perfect the singing. She did it twice and then we got it almost right and now it sounds great,” says A R Rahman
An excited Alia Bhatt adds, “It was unreal.. I am a bathroom singer but to have the opportunity to sing a song composed by Rahman sir was unbelievable.. This film is so close to my heart not just for acting but for singing too now! ”
Highway, produced by Window Seat Films and presented by Sajid Nadiadwala, will be released worldwide by UTV Motion Pictures. The music of the film will be available on T-Series.
