Mikhail Youzhny: I just want to keep playing and enjoying tennis

CHENNAI, December 23, 2013: World No.15 Mikhail Youzhny of Russia is among the top ranked players to be participating in Aircel Chennai Open 2014 that boasts of top names such as World No.8 Stanislas Wawrinka, World No. 16 Fabio Fognini, and World No. 26 Benoit Paire among others. On his second visit to play in Chennai, Youzhny will be back for another shot at a title he won when he routed Spain’s Rafael Nadal 6-0, 6-1 in the 2008 final.
He has had a very impressive year that started on an incredibly positive note as he recorded his 400th career ATP World Tour-level singles win over Benjamin Becker in Doha. He finished runner-up in Halle final losing to Roger Federer and after that became the first Russian champion in 18 years at Gstaad, defeating Robin Haase. “I think I put up a good fight right through. I played consistently during all three sets. We both played good tennis but Roger played little better!” said the 31-year-old describing his match with the World No.6 in Halle.
Reaching the US Open quarterfinals for the third time, beating Haas in round three and Hewitt in round four boosted Youzhny’s confidence. “While I feel that I did not do bad job, I do not have the euphoria of success because I always want to do better. As far as I know, there are only two players in the ATP Tour, who have finished all years since 2002 in the top 50. I am fortunate to share that honour with Federer! I think it is not that bad,” he said talking about the year that has gone by. He is positive about 2014 and plans to make no changes to his training schedule.
This year, Youzhny also went on to win his second ATP World Tour crown of the season and lifted the 10th trophy of career with victory over 31-year-old David Ferrer at the Valencia Open 500. It was Youzhny’s 10th career title and first victory over a Top 5 opponent since 2010, when he upset Novak Djokovic in the Rotterdam semi-finals. Speaking about the experience, he said, “I just went to play my best and did not think about the result.”
The Russian is someone who really wants to keep playing good tennis wherever he goes. While he was disappointed that he lost to Djokovic twice, he feels he did not take advantage of the chances he got. “Both were two very different matches. At the Monte Carlo Masters, it was the first clay court tournament for both of us and we both were not in best shape. I think I had some chances to win, but did not convert. In New York, we both were in good shape, but Novak was fresh. He was more consistent. I was just out of a tough five set match against Hewitt in the fourth round,” he said expressing his views.
As a passionate Russian eager to learn, Youzhny has been coached by Boris Sobkin since he was a 10-year-old and the two continue to share a close working relationship. He was proud to be part of the country’s Davis Cup winning teams in 2002, 2006 and believes the future of tennis is bright thanks to an abundance of promising young talent such as Evgeny Donskoy, Andrey Kuznetsov and Karen Khachanov. He is known for his signature military style salute, which he uses to thank spectators for watching the match.
Youzhny is one among a number of top players who are drawn to Chennai because they like the tournament, the crowds and excitement, and the city. Since he practices in Thailand in December, he is not far away and is well prepared to face the weather.
When he gets some time to unwind, he likes to spend time holidaying in Dubai and with the family. Reading Russian Classic literature, catching a game of football, enjoying music such as Russian Chanson or his favourite group Lesopoval rejuvenates him. He also likes Russian humour and wouldn’t mind taking part in comedy if an opportunity comes his way. He says he has many funny tennis stories to entertain people.
When he comes to India, Youzhny loves to indulge in chicken curry and would like to tour the country if he has some time. For now, all eyes are on him as he begins his new season at the USD $450,000 tournament. Will he repeat his 2008 performance in Chennai?

Atul Kasbekar, who heads Bling! Entertainment Solutions, a leading talent management agency, has come across a strange and disturbing occurrence recently.
A man is pretending to be Atul Kasbekar and has got in touch with various models and talents through a text messaging service (Whats App).
The fraud man is using Atul’s name and talking to girls about the casting of a Tamil film of Mani Ratnam.
Post messaging conversations, the girls are asked to come on skype and the man who claims to be Atul Kasbekar/ Mani Ratnam tells them how his camera is faulty and so only the girls are seen on camera.
The line of questions asked to those girls start with the general ones getting more and more personal post some time and then they realise that it is not Atul.
Some girls have reached out to Atul about the same and he is certain that there may be many other girls who haven’t got the chance to bring this to his notice.
When Atul learnt about this mischief, he immediately reached out to Mani Ratnam informing him about this fraud and how they should take some help from the Police Cyber Cell and take a strict action against this before something unpleasant comes up.
Atul Kasbekar confirms the news, “I have got this to Mani sir’s notice and we will soon resolve the matter” .
McAfee spotlights the “12 Scams Of Christmas” to keep consumers digital lives safe
Cyber Scrooges Look to Capitalize on the Busiest Shopping Season of the Year by Hijacking Popular Consumer Habits
India, 23 December 2013 – McAfee today released its annual “12 Scams of Christmas” list to educate the public on the most common scams that criminals use during the holiday season to take advantage of consumers as they shop on their digital devices. Cybercriminals leverage these scams to steal personal information, earn fast cash, and spread malware.
Industry estimates suggest that In India, out of 150 million internet users around 10 million internet users are shopping online. A report by ASSOCHAM states that e-shopping during festive season in India for 2013 has witnessed a 65% increase in comparison to last year for products like mobile phones, e-tablets, consumer electronics, home appliances, home decor, furnishings, apparels, etc. Though banks and various agencies are repeatedly propagating the cause of safe online transactions remains a potential challenge in India.
“The potential for identity theft increases as consumers share personal information across multiple devices that are often under protected,” said, Michelle Dennedy, Vice president and Chief Privacy Officer at McAfee. “Understanding criminals’ mindsets and being aware of how they try to take advantage of consumers can help ensure that we use our devices the way they were intended – to enhance our lives, not jeopardize them.”
To help consumers stay alert for greedy Grinches as they surf the web for holiday travel deals and seek out gifts for their loved ones, McAfee has identified this year’s top “12 Scams of Christmas”:
1) Not-So-Merry Mobile Apps—Official-looking software for holiday shopping, including those that feature celebrity or company endorsements, could be malicious, designed to steal or send out your personal data. Criminals can redirect incoming calls and messages, offering them the chance to bypass two-step authentication systems where the second step involves sending a code to a mobile device.
2) Holiday Mobile SMS Scams—FakeInstaller tricks Android users into thinking it is a legitimate installer for an application and then quickly takes advantage of the unrestricted access to smartphones, sending SMS messages to premium rate numbers without the user’s consent.
3) Hot Holiday Gift Scams—Advertisements that offer deals on must-have items, such as PS4 or Xbox One, might be too good to be true. Clever crooks will post dangerous links, phony contests on social media sites, and send phishing emails to entice viewers to reveal personal information or download malware onto their devices.
4) Seasonal Travel Scams—Phony travel deal links and notifications are common, as are hackers waiting to steal your identity upon arrival. When logging into an infected PC with an email username and password, scammers can install keylogging spyware, keycatching hardware, and more. A hotel’s Wi-Fi may claim that you need to install software before using it and instead infect your computer with malware if you “agree.”
5) Dangerous E-Seasons Greetings—Legitimate-looking e-cards wishing friends “Season’s Greetings” can cause unsuspecting users to download “Merry Malware” such as a Trojan or other virus after clicking a link or opening an attachment.
6) Deceptive Online Games—Before your kids are glued to their newly downloaded games, be wary of the games’ sources. Many sites offering full-version downloads of Grand Theft Auto, for example, are often laden with malware, and integrated social media pages can expose gamers, too.
7) Shipping Notifications Shams—Phony shipping notifications can appear to be from a mailing service alerting you to an update on your shipment, when in reality, they are scams carrying malware and other harmful software designed to infect your computer or device.
8) Bogus Gift Cards—An easy go-to gift for the holidays, gift cards can be promoted via deceptive ads, especially on Facebook, Twitter, or other social sites, that claim to offer exclusive deals on gift cards or packages of cards and can lead consumers to purchase phony ones online.
9) Holiday SMiShing—During the holidays, SMiShing is commonly seen in gift card messages, where scammers pose as banks or credit card companies asking you to confirm information for “security purposes”. Some even include the first few digits of your credit card number in the SMS message to fool you into a false sense of safety.
10) Fake Charities—Donating to charities is common this time of year for many looking to help the less fortunate. However, cybercriminals capitalize on this generosity, especially during natural disaster events, and set up fake charity sites and pocket the donations.
11) Romance Scams—With so many niche dating sites now available to Internet users, it can be difficult to know exactly who the person is behind the screen. Many messages sent from an online friend can include phishing scams, where the person accesses your personal information such as usernames, passwords, and credit card details.
12) Phony E-Tailers—The convenience of online shopping does not go unnoticed by cyber scrooges. With so many people planning to shop online, scammers set up phony e-commerce sites to steal your money and personal data.
To keep consumers protected and ensure a happy holiday season, McAfee has shared additional safety tips:
• Review Apps
Review mobile apps carefully before downloading. Check the comments section and confirm the app’s legitimacy directly with the parties that the software claims are involved.
· Double-check that the “download” button is legitimate when attempting to install new apps on your phone.
· Use antivirus software and learn more about FakeInstaller here.
· Deals and Steals
If an offer seems too good to be true, it probably is. Purchase directly from the official retailer rather than from third parties online.
· Do your best to verify “low” prices on this season’s biggest sellers.
· Check gift cards that you receive for suspicious misspellings in the sender’s name or the name of the card company itself. Double-check IP addresses on the sites you use for shopping and look at customer reviews to verify an e-tailer’s legitimacy.
· Always check the domain name on shipping notification alerts and be cautious of any that you receive when you have not sent a package or requested them.
· Only download or buy games from reputable websites.
· Check in with retailers about the legitimacy of a deal you see advertised and talk to your children about how to spot and avoid online potential scams.
• Research before Sharing
Banking and credit card companies should never ask you for personal information via text message. If you receive such a message, contact your bank directly via phone, secure website, or in-person. Some other specific examples include:
· Log on to trustworthy dating sites when looking for love online and be wary about sharing personal information of any kind to websites or individuals you encounter online.
· Do background research on the charity you’d like to donate to and think before sharing any type of personal information on a website that looks suspicious.
• Be Cautious When Traveling
Before traveling, make sure that all of your software is up-to-date and run a virus scan. If you’re asked for a username and password after clicking a link, try using a fake input on the first login attempt. The extra few seconds it takes to load confirms that the page is actually looking for valid username/password combinations; scam sites will let you right in.

Sony Entertainment Television’s upcoming thriller drama, Main Na Bhoolungi has already created a lot of buzz amongst the viewers. Considering its fresh and unique concept, the promos have grabbed allot of attention not only from the audience. Sakshi Tanwar, better known as Priya from Bade Acche Lagte Hai will be seen presenting the first episode of this show. Sakshi has managed to make time to shoot for Main Na Bhoolungi from her busy schedule, the reason being the distinctive story line. She was very impressed by the concept and is pleased to kick start the show as a narrator. Nonetheless, whether she will be seen in the rest of the episodes is yet to be decided.
