Mumbai, 12th November 2013: Godrej Eon Tour De India 2013 in association with Avon Cycles, the biggest cycling event under the aegis of UCI and CFI announced its edition II today. The launch at the ITC Grand Maratha witnessed Brand Ambassador – John Abraham & corporate personalities from Godrej Eon, Avon cycle, Schneider Electric along with political leader Chagan Bujbal (Public Works & special assistance department) among others. The evening was lively with health guru Mickey Mehta conducting exercising session for the guests and also interacting with guests to understand their health regime. Also, John Abraham interacted with Red FM – RJ J Man who is the mascot for the Mumbai leg of the cyclothon. The multi-city event will tour Mumbai, Jaipur and Delhi on December 15th, 17th and 22nd respectively this year. Promoted by ID Sports, Cycling Federation of India and UCI and marketed by Total Sports Asia, the cycling event will culminate in Delhi NCR in Buddh International Circuit.
The event is well on track for its biggest year yet. Entry levels are on set to surpass last year’s figures and organizers are looking forward to welcoming more cyclists than ever before. As of November, the entry figure for the Cyclothon is 22,000 plus cyclists, including the 100 plus cyclists expected from overseas. This year will be far more exciting where the cyclists will be gunning to break the record of covering 160 kms within 180 mins, ensuring the race for the finish will be a close and exciting one. Empowering the cause of ‘You are the Engine-Find the Champion in you’ the cycling carnival will witness participation from Elite cyclists, specially able people, children and masses along with the masses from all walks of life. Godrej Eon, Avon cycles, Garnier, Honda, Renault, Sony Six, Golds Gym, Schneider Electricals are just some of the many companies who have encouraged their staff to do something inspirational like cycling this year and take on the challenge. The multi-city event will tour Mumbai, Delhi and Jaipur this year.

Surbhi Tiwari to enter Do Dil Bandhe Ek Dori Se
The popular television actor will make an entry this week…
IMG_5795.JPGA popular face in the television industry, Surbhi Tiwari, will soon be seen making an entry in Zee TV’s prime-time love story – Do Dil Bandhe Ek Dori Se. Doing a cameo in the show, Surbhi will be seen playing the role of Shivani’s best friend’s mother – Sunanda.
Talking about the show, Surbhi said, “My association with Zee TV goes back to their flagship show Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo and since then, whenever I have been approached by Zee, I’ve never said ‘No’. I am glad to be doing a cameo in Do Dil Bandhe Ek Dori Se, as in a very short span of time the show has garnered a huge amount of fan following.” Talking about her character, she said,”I play the character of a lady called Sunanda who is a woman rigid in her thoughts and has her way of getting things done. She is scheming in nature but is fun and entertaining at the same time. My character is extremely colourful and has various shades.”
Going ahead, the story in the show would focus on Shivani’s trials with life as she tries to make a living away from Raghu. Shivani will be seen shifting to her best friend’s place where Sunanda, her friend’s mother, will make life hell for her as she is not rich anymore. Sunanda will not miss a single opportunity at hand to look down upon Shivani and humiliate her. Will Shivani be able to bear Sunanda’s torments or will she re-unite with Raghu?

It appears that some misinformation is being carried out regarding the said Film which we would like to clarify and state that the said Film is inspired and based on work of William Shakespeare “Romeo and Juliet’. The said Film is neither related to “Ramleela” folklore/traditional performance associated with Lord Ram nor related to “Rasleela” associated with Lord Krishna. Ram the character in the said Film does not depict or resemble LORD SHRI RAM in any manner.

Current and former cricketers showered encomiums on legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar who will be retiring after playing his 200th Test in his home city of Mumbai this week.
Speaking at LAVA Salaam Sachin India Today Conclave’s session- SACHIN: AN INSPIRATION- being held in Mumbai, Indian cricketer Suresh Raina paid rich tribute to Sachin. The session was moderated by TV TODAY Deputy Editor Sweta Singh.
He said “Sachin is one of the most dedicated players I have ever seen. He motivates everyone. Sachin has a great respect for the team. Before the match he used to listen to Kishore Kumar’s song Lehro Ki Tarah.”
Raina further added that winning the 2011 World Cup in Mumbai was a really emotional moment for him
“He was very keen of winning the world cup. In 2011 after winning the World Cup he got emotional. He really wanted to win the World Cup.“
Raina acknowledged the legendary batsman’s yeoman service to the game and shouldering the burden of the Indian team for 24-long years.
“He used to respect everyone and used to carry burden on his shoulder”, Raina said.
Tendulkar’s contemporary and former Indian speedster Javagal Srinath complimented Sachin for his selfless service to the game.
“It was tough to argue with sachin and it was always a pleasure to bat with Sachin. At the age 19 the century which Sachin made will always stand tall.”
“When he does not bat well, he does not react and walks back without making any fuss. When he first became captain he always wanted to win. His talent was so high on him”, Srinath added
Interestingly Raina said that playing against Pakistan invariably brought the best out of Sachin Tendulkar .
“Sachin always gave his 200 percent while playing against Pakistan. During the 2011 World Cup semi-final both country’s Prime Ministers were present at the ground and there was tremendous pressure on us to win. Both camps were aggressive but Sachin asked us to relax. He advised us to put pressure on Pakistan on the field and they will crumble”
Talking about Pakistan the following session saw two Pakistan greats, Waqar Younis, former Pakistan captain and Pakistan speedster Shoaib Akhtar sharing their throughts on Bowling to Sachin.
The session moderated by TV TODAY SPORTS EDITOR VIKRANT GUPTA threw up some interesting anecdotes on Sachin’s famous rivalry against Pakistan.

Shoaib Akhtar considered it as an honour to play against Sachin Tendulkar and recalled some of the historic duels during his career. Notwithstanding his perpetual fear while bowling to the Master Blaster
Akhtar recalled the 1999 Test at Eden Gardens when he had castled Sachin.
“I had no idea when I came to India that how big is Sachin is in India. When I got him out in first Test. I was stunned to see the people’s reaction.”
Waqar recalled Sachin’s 136 in Chennai which he rated it better than the 2003 WC Centurion 98.
“Chennai innings was better than his World Cup one because track was turning and Saqlain and Afridi were turning the ball.”

Pune, November 12, 2013: For the first time ever, Cartoon Network celebrated the birthday of super student and super hero Kris from Roll No. 21 on November 14! In addition to all the on-air hoopla, Kris made his birthday extra special by celebrating it with some of India’s less fortunate kids.
The children of Pune’s Bhartiya Samaj Seva Kendra (BSSK) were treated to a double surprise and party when Cartoon Network not only celebrated Kris’s birthday but also Children’s Day with them. Salaam Sachin India Today Conclave kick-starts with Ajit Tendulkar
Mumbai 12th November 2013: Ajit Tendulkar LAVA Salaam Sachin India Today Conclave’s first session saw Sachin Tendulkar’s Brother Ajit Tendulkar share some insightful details into Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar’s life and career.
The session conducted by India Today Group’s Consulting Editor Boria Majumdar saw Ajit reflect on life after 18th November when Sachin will quit the game.
“One thing after 18th November Sachin won’t be wearing I ndia cap again. It will be a big change for him. He has been wearing that India cap for last 24 yrs. He always stepped on the field and people expected to score him 100 always. Pressure is not going to be there further. He can eat as many butter chicken as he wants with no further media scrutiny.” Ajit said
He further added that his entire family will be watching the final test match at the Wankhede stadium in Mumbai beginning on 14th November.
“They are happy. Mother has never seen him play. This will be the first time. Also it will be a very emotional moment.
Surprisingly for someone who moulded Sachin’s illustrious career and guided him in his formative years has himself never seen Sachin play live.
So what prompted him to take Sachin to coach Ramakant Achrekar?
“Three things- He had a beautiful back lift. He had a lovely swing of hands. While playing with tennis ball he used to picked up length quickly.”
Ajit also had his fears during Sachin’s growing up years. Especially his love for fast cars!
“Never doubted his ability. A fast learner but few things which scared us. Like Dungarpur Sir called my father that he would often drive at 5th gear. I would ask my mother to pray and my sister used to fast and to create positive vibes.”
One of the low points of Sachin’s career was when his father passed away during the 1999 World Cup. That was the time when his family willed him on to continue playing the remainder of the tournament.
“That point of time (when he passed away during the 1999 WC) if father could have come for even 5 minutes. We would have said the same thing. We all tried to convince him (Sachin) to go and play.
So what is brother Ajit’s favourite Sachin innings?
“I do admit independently that his 136 vs Pakistan in Chennai is my favourite innings.”
Ajit concluded by saying that Sachin will leave the game as a contended man.
“From day one he was disciplined and talented we did not need to do any special. It’s ending on a happy note and most of his dreams have come true he has fulfilled the expectations.”
