Mumbai, 27th February 2014:- Sony Music, a global music giant, brings you a unique first time collaboration between – the legendary A R Rahman and the multi-talented Kapil Sibal, Hon’ble Minister of Law & Justice and Communications & Information Technology, Government of India, in an album called ‘Raunaq’. Written by Mr. Kapil Sibal and composed by Mr. A R Rahman, the album is a conversation of music & poetry that takes you on a journey of varied emotions. A R Rahman has also played the role of a visual story teller and has conceived the narrative of the lead music video.
A grand event hosted by Sony Music did justice to the album and its splendor. The early evening saw singers from the album along with A R Rahman and Mr. Kapil Sibal arrive and walk through the red carpet. Encouraging Mr. Kapil Sibal on his new journey, his friends from different walks of life were seen at the event. A R Rahman’s friends from the industry also joined in the celebrations.
The album features 7 plus songs sung by the best artists from the music industry. India’s pride Bharat Ratna Awardee, Smt. Lata Mageshkar will be heard in the song ‘Laadli’ giving the album a much needed gravitas. Shreya Ghosal with her mellifluous voice steals your heart away in ‘Kismat se’. While Jonita Gandhi, the new singing sensation with her infectious voice makes the song ‘Aa Bhi Jaa’ memorable. A R Rahman’s voice is featured in ‘Laadli’ and ‘Boondein’ promising to make the album a must have!
Elaborating on the album, A R Rahman said, “Raunaq for me is a visual and musical space which I have been wanting to go on for a long time. After listening to Mr. Sibal’s lyrics, its simplicity took me to that place and since then I have been working on creating music keeping the lyrics in mind.”
While Mr. Kapil Sibal, added, “Sensitive, aesthetic, and intuitive, is what AR Rahman is. He is totally immersed in music. Every element of his being is involved in creation – as he aspires for perfection in everything he does. Rahman’s genius gives life to my thoughts.”

Madhuri Dixit voices support for women’s empowerment with poems
Mumbai, 27th February, 2014: Madhuri Dixit, who has been busy promoting ‘Gulaab Gang’, a film with the powerful message of ‘women empowerment’, strongly feels about the cause. To reach out to her audience with this message, the actor participated today in a Live Video Chat, where she and director Soumik Sen spoke about the cause, with poems. The beautiful evening saw the powerful recitation of some of the most timeless poems by Madhuri Dixit. The director and the gorgeous actor also answered questions asked by the online viewers.
Director Soumik Sen revealed how the idea of getting Madhuri to recite these poems, excited him. “While shooting for the film, I had shortlisted 3 poems on women empowerment which I thought Madhuriwould like to read. When I handed over these poems to her, she started to read them and being the actor she is, her reading the lines looked like an expressive narration. That is when I thought of shooting the videos. The poems we chose are already a part of our history. With Madhuri’s help we could reach out to more people and introduce them to these inspiring words of the legendary poets.”
The makers of the film have released three videos featuring Madhuri Dixit reciting poems written by renowned poets like the popular Urdu poet Sahir Ludhianvi, Dushyant Kumar the poet of modern Hindustani literature and the radical bihari poet, Gorakh Pandey.

Among many awards we must remember the Maharashtra state award of 2001 for best artist and art teacher. He has also received first prize for water color landscape and pencil sketching in different events. He won the Kalidas award at Ujjain in 1987. He was honored by Bombay Art Society by offering him life membership the whole evening was ably supported and spearheaded by Sanjay Doshi
This Dhangar series of paintings explores a very intimate relationship between the artist and the subject. Raosaheb Gurav portrays all the characteristics of the Dhangar living with nature, their sensitivity, kindness, strength and life style. These paintings are solace especially for the Art lovers of Metro cities – -Crowded, polluted and who have lost the purity of nature. He has also expressed himself through abstract brushwork done in oils. He excels in all the aspects of art- delicate and complex color combinations, well integrated compositions.
For the same reason his series of paintings in the same theme ‘Dhangar’ (i.e. Shepherd) has been appreciated all over the world. As a result one of his paintings of shepherd was selected as cover page of the book “Delhi” written by Khushwant Singh which is published French Publication. One painting of this series was also selected by Lalit Kala Academy, New Delhi, for their Annual Exhibition which is supposed to be very prestigious exhibition.
The exhibition began with The traditional lighting of lamp was by the graceful & gorgeous Zeenat Aman &Rohhit verma who was seen in his ensemble with a Pretty hand bag adding to the outfit. Sanjay Doshi , Chitra Mete , Amy Billimoria, , Kanwaljeet Singh, Rati Agnihotri, also spent good time watching the paintings and complimented Raosaheb.

The exhibition was buzzing with crème de la crème crowd in awe of the paintings & all praises for the artist. Zeenat aman loved was all smiles see the portraits shine out accompanied by Rati Agnihotri.

Lyricist Faaiz Aawaar’s Son debuts as Music Director
Faaiz Anwaar, a lyricist who has penned songs for hit movies like Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin (title song), Imtehaan, Saajan (title song), Jab We Met (Aaoge Jab Tum O Saajnaa), Dabangg (Tere Mast Mast Do Nain) and Rowdy Rathore (Chikni Kamar…, Chammak Challo..) is a proud man today. His son Farzan Faaiz debut as a Music Director with Raju Mavani’s “Anuradha”.
The song of the movie has been well liked and the movie is set to release on 28th February 2014.
Below are excerpts of an interview with Music Director Farzan Faaiz:
Tell us something about yourself.
I finished my schooling from Juhu’s Vidyanidhi High School and then graduated in Arts from Mithibai College. Now I am into music.
Your father is a lyricist and you chose music?
Music has been my passion right from my childhood. I heard a lot of Indian and western music Amongst Indian R.D.Burman was my favorite. His music has an inspirational quality which stirred me to explore deep into the music. Hence, I learnt guitar and keyboard from Internet and started composing music with my school band. My father was impressed with my interest, and encouraged me to take the music composition seriously.
My father, Faaiz Anwar, a lyricist par excellence with 30 years of experience in the Music Industry taught me every aspect of music, lyrics and song composition. I honed my recording skill under Empire Studio’s Recordist Mani Sir.
How did you get the part in movie Anuradha and how was the experience working with Raju Mavani.
Raju Mavani who is a very dear friend of my father happened to hear my compositions for Ramesh Sharma’s movie “Mumbai Shuklaji Street”. He liked them and asked me compose songs for his film, too. I am very thankful to him for his trust in me.In the beginning I was in awe of Raju Uncle. He knows a lot about music and I had to work very hard to satisfy him.
Your father has been associated with big films. Why did not you begin your career with a big banner?
Movies are not big or small. We have seen many small films beating big films at the box office. it’s your work that is paramount.
Work or Money, Which is important for you?
I want to get good opportunities now. Money will follow.
What is Future plan?
I would like to do good job and I am sure that if I put my honest efforts in my work, I will be able to create my own identity.

Anil Kapoor’s role inspired by Bal Thackeray in Sanjay Gupta’s – Mumbai Saga!
The latest buzz is that Anil Kapoor’s role in Sanjay Gupta’s ambitious project, Mumbai Saga, has strong shades of Thackeray.
Milap Zaveri who had written the dialogues for Gupta’s last film – Shootout At Wadala has been roped in to write the dialogues for Mumbai Saga! The story has been penned down by Hussain Zaidi. Interestingly Prashant Pandey, who crafted Big B’s character in Sarkar Raj, has been working on the Mumbai Saga screenplay with Robin Bhatt. Amitabh Bachchan’s character in Ram Gopal Varma’s Sarkar (2005) and Sarkar Raj (20008) was also modelled on the late Bal Thackeray.
“Sanjay is working closely with Hussain and Milap and is providing valuable inputs to build the character. Besides Balasaheb, Anil’s character also borrows elements from Vasai-Virar strongman Bhai Thakur and NCP Chief Sharad Pawar” – a source close to the development revealed.
When contacted, Gupta said, “It’s too early to talk about the character since the film is still being written. But yes, it is inspired by some real politicians who were instrumental in converting Bombay to Mumbai and changing the city’s landscape.”

IDA Ireland appoints John Kilmartin as the Director for India business
India, February 27, 2014 – IDA Ireland, the Irish Government’s foreign investment agency, today announced that it has appointed John Kilmartin as the Director of India business. His role involves spearheading the Indian operations of the IDA Ireland organisation which involves promoting Ireland as an operations base for Indian companies expanding their presence in European markets.

The News You Would Like To See
India, 27th February 2014. There is an ideal world where people’s problems are addressed and resolved. Starting to describe this world is the first step towards actually building it. The UnHate News project, an online platform that publishes only news we’d all like to see, starts from this principle in order to create a community of young people who actively participate in the news process: posting text, photos and video to produce “ideal” information in tune with the times.
Unhatenews.com, a new initiative of the UnHate Foundation (the heart of Benetton Group’s commitment to social issues) in collaboration with the United Nations Department of Public Information (UN DPI) aims to involve young people from all over the world in proactively telling the story of our society, seeking in their values - understanding, solidarity, openness to diversity (values shared by the UnHate Foundation and Benetton Group) – solutions to the world’s problems.
In overcoming their passive attitude to the filtered and mostly negative news that surrounds us, the young reporters will be able to demonstrate their ability to respond positively to society’s need for concrete action by constructing a scale of values that represent them. The end result will therefore also provide us with research into the younger generations.
The reporters’ stories, evaluated by the editors of UnHate News, will be published on the website, where the community will be able to rate them. An Unhate Foundation Jury will select 10 news items from the 100 most popular and submit them to the United Nations Department of Public Information (UN DPI), which will then seek to match them with existing UN projects. The Unhate Foundation will, in turn, finance these projects.
UnHate News started on February 17 with four main news items, as conceived by Fabrica (Benetton Group’s communication research centre). The idea was to provide the potential young reporters with some indications of method and style, such as accuracy, impartiality, independence, creativity and humour.
These news items, which have already gone viral thanks to their eye-catching images and videos, address three major current issues: rights for homosexuals (Gay Pride on Red Square in Moscow); child brides in Africa and Asia (with some ironic interpretations of what it means to be a couple); and the dispute between China and Japan over the Senkaku islands (with a beach volleyball challenge between two teams of beautiful girls).

Through a narrative that is fictional and full of hope, the UnHate News draws attention to social injustice, promoting a vision of a different world.
The UnHate News project, which is closely integrated with social media and blogs that make the news, will conclude at the end of March 2014. Over the next two weeks, the internal jury will report the 10 top news stories to the United Nations. Two months later, 10 real projects supported by the UnHate Foundation will be ready to go and make a positive contribution – small but concrete – to efforts to change our world.

The dream is of a world where people respect each other’s rights, where diversity is something to be treasured, where cultures, beliefs and political ideas thrive in a context of mutual respect. Dharam and Sandeep’s music shines out at the Music Launch of Gang of Ghosts
The young music director duo have composed the music for Satish Kaushik’s upcoming movie
Mumbai, February: Satish Kaushik , who has worked with some of the biggest names in the industry when it comes to his musicals, has gone ahead and put his faith this time in yet another set of youngsters: Dharam-Sandeep, to put together the soundtrack of his ghost comedy GANG OF GHOSTS.
Dharam and Sandeep are music directors and composers duo who have worked in various Hindi films. Their works include Music Direction for movies like Main Aur Mrs Khanna, Rann, Raktha Charitra 1& 2, Department. As music producers, they have contributed to films like Jab We Met, Chocolate, Golmaal, Golmaal Returns and many more.
Apparently, Satish Kaushik was looking for someone who could come up with a soundtrack that reflected the quirky nature of the plot that GANG OF GHOSTS boasts of. Since he wanted song numbers that were young, fun and unpredictable for his film that boasts of a huge ensemble cast, Satish Kaushik felt that it would be best suited if relatively fresh composers were given an opportunity.
Ratan Jain, who is producing the film along with Satish Kaushik, was impressed as well and the composers were on board.
At the Event launch a medley of songs from Gang of Ghosts were performed live and received a huge shout out from the audience. Produced by Ganesh Jain, Ratan Jain and Satish Kaushik, Gang of Ghosts releases on March 21.

Sarah-Jane to turns singer
Actor Sarah-Jane Dias who will be seen this year in films like “O Teri”, “Happy New Year” and “Angry Indian Goddesses” is taking western singing lessons these days for a reason. Sources close to the actress suggest that she will be lending her voice for a few tracks in her untitled upcoming film. When contacted, Ms Dias did confirm about the vocal training but refused to give any information about the film or its title. Sources also confirm that since a month she has been taking vigorous training in both singing and contemporary dance and was recently spotted at Ashley Lobo’s dance school.
