Mumbai, 14 February, 2014: The 16th edition of The Terry Fox Run was announced in Mumbai today, with Mr. Richarb Bale, Consule General, Canada Mr. Abhishek Kapoor, Ms. Judith Fox, Mr. Gul Kripalani and Dr. Rajen Badwe.
The “Terry Fox Run” will be held on 16th February 2014 at 8.00 am opposite Air-India Building, Nariman Point, via Marine Drive Flyover, taking a U turn below the flyover to reach the end point of the race i.e. at Brabourne Stadium (CCI) at 8.30 am.
Over 50 schools will participate in this run and the children will be received by several dignitaries and the event that will conclude by 9.30 am.

The Run is a non-competitive event where people get together as individuals, families and groups to raise money in Terry Fox’s name. It is a day of celebrating Terry’s legacy and helping to keep his dream of a cure for cancer alive. A run that brings individuals together in many parts of the world- Mumbai can be proud about the results of working together, with no barriers or frontiers for the benefit of all. Mumbai’s determination to fight cancer has made it into the top 3 cities of the world for giving generously towards fight cancer research through the Terry Fox Run.
Born in Canada, Terry Fox was an active teenager involved in many sports. He was only 18 years old when he was diagnosed with osteogenic sarcoma (bone cancer) and had to have his right leg amputated above the knee. While in hospital, he witnessed the suffering of other cancer patients, many of them young children. This made him decide to run across Canada to raise money for cancer research. He called his journey the Marathon of Hope. Terry inspired a nation in 1980 and today continues to do so worldwide . He died soon after but an annual event came into existence to commemorate his efforts known as The Terry Fox Run. Each year, thousands of volunteers organize Terry Fox Run events in Canada and around the world.

Other Key Partners are the thousands of school children who come out early morning for the Run to support the cause.
Judith Fox-Alder, sister of Terry Fox says she marvels at how much the annual run has been able to do for cancer research, and how much it continues to do. The Run in India is now the second biggest Run in the world! “We hope this year that the record will be broken in terms of the number of participants and in terms of money collected though the support of our supporters and schools,” says Mr. Kripalani.
“We have over 34 countries that are doing Terry Fox Runs now,” said Fox-Alder, “It’s quite amazing that Terry 34 years ago did his Marathon of Hope and captured a nation, and now he has captured the hearts of people all over the world. Terry was an extraordinary person, and the fact that we were born into this family is just a miracle in itself.”

Darr @the Mall is based on a mall which is haunted by evil spirits. The
trailer reveals that nine people have been strangely murdered in the mall.
Jimmy Shergill is responsible of taking care of security arrangements of the
mall for a special party being hosted in the premises.

Highway rolls on the Berlin red carpet
From the unending roads and the rustic terrain of north India to the red carpet of one of the world’s biggest film festivals, Imtiaz Ali’s new film Highway is on quite a trip.
The film, which stars Alia Bhatt and Randeep Hooda in the lead and has mesmerising music by the maestro A R Rahman, had its World Premiere on Thursday, 13th February at the 64th Berlin Film Festival in the panorama section. Walking the red carpet before the screening at the famous Zoo Palast theatre, were Imtiaz, Alia, Randeep and Rahman.

February 2014: The Tootsie Rollers, UK’s all girl acapella music group, delighted guests with a scintillating Valentine Day’s performance at Sofitel Mumbai BKC, Mumbai’s very own destination for French luxury hospitality. Corporate heads, Bollywood and socialites joined the hotel’s new GM Mr. Biswajit Chakraborty, to celebrate at this eclectic evening of music, cocktails and dinner. Fashion actor Arjan Bajwa was heard discussing British music with the band, while Nisha Jamvwal mingled with Ashwin Gidwani, Arif Padiath, Head, Zoya Jewellery, Manek Davar, producer Jo Rajan and others.
The Tootsie Rollers dazzled the audience with their high energy performance – with one act being in the traditional Indian saree as well. Their music covered a fusion of glamorous golden era classics with contemporary magic, to give them a totally tootsie twist.

Ukranian actress Nataliya Kozhenova awarded by Travel Agents Association of India

The beautiful actress made her debut with a Hindi Movie Anjuna Beach where she had played controversial role of the 15-year-old Scarlett Keeling. Scarlet who in reality was the unfortunate young British Girl who was brutally raped and murdered in Goa’s Anjuna Beach in 2008.
Nataliya Kozhenova said, “I feel extremely humbled when I was awarded the Travel Agents Association of India. It was a glad moment for me. I fell in love with Hindi movies because “Love” seemed to exist only in Bollywood”.
