FUGLY STAR VIJENDER SINGH INAUGURATES CHARITY MARATHON ON WORLD CANCER DAY

The Olympic medalist who makes his silver screen debut this year pledged his support on World Cancer Day

Greater Noida, 4th February 2014: On World Cancer Day (4th February 2014), Olympic medallist boxer Vijender Singh, who makes his acting debut in Akshay Kumar and Ashvini Yardi’s Grazing Goat Pictures film FUGLY, inaugurated the RUN FOR MANAVTA charity marathon at Sharda University, Greater Noida, with five courageous children who are suffering from cancer.

The event by Manavta Cancer Foundation of India organised the run to coincide with World Cancer Day, a singular initiative under which the entire world can unite together in the fight against cancer. The Manavta Cancer Foundation is a charitable trust led by groups of doctors, whose aim is to reduce the suffering of cancer patients and to prevent and detect the signs of cancer by providing a range of free services to patients, which include: cancer awareness, cancer screening in initial stages and to support cancer sufferers and survivors emotionally, financially, and scientifically.

Talking about his participation in the event, Mr. Vijender Singh said, “Cancer has taken away people from their close ones. I always wanted to create awareness about this disease so that people get timely treatments done and save themselves. I would like to encourage the people who are suffering from cancer to fight against it. It gives me immense pleasure to see people of all age groups synergizing their efforts in a social cause.”

He further added “We all come across a situation in life wherein we need the maximum support of our family and friends, and then you feel like you can fight any shortcoming. I participated in this event to encourage the people who are suffering from cancer to fight against it and prove to the world that no matter what the situation may be, one can always beat it.”

Vijender will soon be seen on the silver screen in Akshay Kumar and Ashvini Yardi’s Grazing Goat Pictures’ next Hindi release after OMG! Oh My God, Fugly, a youthful entertaining film set in the by-lanes of Delhi, releasing on 16th May 2014. It is a story of four friends: Dev (played by Anil Kapoor’s nephew Mohit Marwah), Devi (played by the grandniece of Sayed Jaffery, Kiara Advani), Gaurav (played by Vijender Singh) and Aditya (played by Slumdog Millionaire actor Arfi Lamba).

Study reveals majority of adults share intimate details via Unsecured Digital Devices

Seventy Percent of 18 – 24 Year Olds Receive Sexually Suggestive Content, and Nearly Half Share Passwords

India – Feb. 5, 2014 – Today, McAfee released the findings from their 2014 Love, Relationships & Technology survey. For a second year in a row, the company examined how more than 1,500 consumers are sharing and storing intimate data on their mobile devices, especially with current or former significant others. The study highlights how sharing personal content such as suggestive texts, naked photos, suggestive video and passcodes on these devices can potentially lead to cyber-stalking and the exposure of private content leaking online.

While 98% of respondents use their mobile device to take photos, 54% send or receive intimate content including video, photos, emails and messages. Of those surveyed, 69% are securing their smartphone with a password or passcode, a 30 percentage point increase from last year’s result. However, 46% of U.S. adults still share their passwords with another individual (down from 54%), while 42% use the same password across multiple devices, increasing the likelihood that these mobile devices will become hacked.

“With all the stories we’ve heard about intimate photos being leaked, it’s hard to believe people are still sharing their passwords,” said Gary Davis, vice president of McAfee consumer business. “Ultimately, they’re increasing the risks of these photos becoming public and possibly jeopardizing their identity and reputation. Consumers must take precautions and use mobile security to ensure that what should be private stays private.”

McAfee advises consumers not to share passwords or codes for mobile devices with others to help keep their content secure. Mobile users should avoid using weak passwords that can be easily determined such as birthdays, numbers in a row or repeat numbers for their devices. Rather, six-digit passcodes and words translated into numbers using your mobile keypad are stronger and should be utilized.

For Your Eyes Only

Seventy percent of 18 – 24 year olds receive sexually suggestive content from someone, the largest percentage of all age groups. More men are likely to use their mobile device to send and receive similar content (61% men vs. 48% women). Forty-five percent of U.S. adults say they stored intimate content that they have received in comparison to 40% who store risqué photos, videos or messages they have sent. Of those who have sent intimate or racy content, 77% have sent this content to their significant other, while 1 in 10 individuals have sent similar content to a total stranger.

Privacy Gender Gap

According to the survey, more men than women protect their mobile devices (74% men vs. 65% women). Given the desire to protect their mobile devices and its content more than two-thirds of men are interested in purchasing biometric security embedded capabilities (e.g. face recognition, voice recognition, fingerprint recognition, etc.)

The Case of the Ex

While 96% of U.S. adults surveyed trust their significant other with intimate content or otherwise private information they have sent, only 32% have asked their partner to delete the information when ending the relationship. In addition to sharing passwords, 50% share mobile phone content and 48% share email accounts. Yet, a quarter of respondents have taken their partner’s mobile device to see other content stored on it, including messages and photos. One in five people are likely to log into their significant other’s Facebook account at least once a month, and only 30% of those surveyed admitted to stalking their significant other’s ex on social media, with 18 to 24 year olds being the top age group.

Public Display of Online Affection

With 91% of respondents on a social media platform (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram), of those who answered they would be celebrating Valentine’s Day on social media, 76% of respondents plan to post messages to others while 58% will post photos. Of those that responded, more women than men plan to celebrate their love on social media on Valentine’s Day (80% women vs. 72% men).

The Manavta Cancer Foundation is a charitable trust led by groups of doctors, whose aim is to reduce the suffering of cancer patients and to prevent and detect the signs of cancer by providing a range of free services to patients, which include: cancer awareness, cancer screening in initial stages and to support cancer sufferers and survivors emotionally, financially, and scientifically.

Talking about his participation in the event, Mr. Vijender Singh said, “Cancer has taken away people from their close ones. I always wanted to create awareness about this disease so that people get timely treatments done and save themselves. Tribhovandas Bhimji Zaveri Ltd. posts Total Income of Rs. 51,894 lakhs and PAT of Rs. 1,908 lakhs in Q3FY14

Mumbai, February 5, 2014: Tribhovandas Bhimji Zaveri (“TBZ- The Original”) Limited, a well known and trusted jewellery retailer in India, has posted a growth of 60.4% in income in Q3 FY14 over Q2 FY14 and a decline of 10.1% over the same period last year. The overall income in the third quarter, October to December 2013, was Rs. 51,894 lakhs, as compared to Rs. 32,361 lakhs for Q2 FY14 and income of Rs. 57,708 lakhs during Q3 FY13.

The EBITDA for third quarter of the current fiscal stood at Rs. 4,363 lakhs compared to Rs. 1,665 lakhs for Q2 FY14 and Rs. 4,359 lakhs for the third quarter of FY13. The EBITDA margin for Q3 FY14 was 8.41% of total income, even though the industry continued to face several challenges in the third quarter. TBZ’s Net Profit stood at Rs. 1,908 lakhs for the quarter ended December 31, 2013. The Earning per Share (not annualized) was Rs. 2.86 for Q3 FY14.

Commenting on the financial performance of the Company in the reporting quarter, Mr. Shrikant Zaveri, Chairman and Managing Director, Tribhovandas Bhimji Zaveri Ltd., said, “The performance was impacted due to tough market conditions as demand shrinkages followed by uncertainty of availability of gold due to high import duty. Despite slowdown, we are hopeful to stimulate consumer demand during the year through innovative strategies to counter the adverse business environment”. “Further, the wedding segment is expected to show improved performance in FY14, driven by higher number of wedding days (74 days compared to 49 days in FY13), and higher number of auspicious days which will last till end of June 2014 – the highest in the last decade. The launch of new collections and designs would further drive volumes and margin expansion”, Mr. Zaveri further said.

New Delhi, 5th February 2014 – Jaguar Land Rover’s latest award-winning products made their Indian debut at the 12th Delhi Auto Expo Motor Show today. Amongst the star attractions, the Jaguar F-TYPE Coupe was unveiled by India’s racing driver, Narain Karthikeyan and the Range Rover long wheelbase by leading Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra.

The celebrities appeared alongside Jaguar Land Rover’s new Indian product range, including the latest Land Rover Discovery and the Range Rover Evoque with 9-speed transmission.
