Raqt star-studded Music Launch at Andhericha Raja

The music launch of Raqt took place with the blessings of Andhericha Raja Ganpati. Monday, 16 September 2013: The hunt for the male lead in PAANI is over!

Close on the heels of his outstanding and realistic performance in SHUDDH DESI ROMANCE, both Shekhar Kapur and Aditya Chopra had no hesitation in confirming Sushant Singh Rajput to play the lead in PAANI.

Speaking about the actor, Shekhar Kapur said, “Sushant is one of the most inspiring young actors to emerge out of India. It’s going to be an exciting director-actor collaboration with him on Paani.”

The film is based in a future world where wars over water have broken out. Water is now owned by International Corporations who use thirst as a weapon of control. In one such future city, a young love story breaks all the rules and in the ensuing war, water flows back to its people. The film will have a strong Indian and Western star cast. Sushant will be joined by a young leading actress from the west.

The film, Produced by Aditya Chopra and Directed by Shekhar Kapur, will be shot in India and overseas. Music is by A. R. Rahman.

Sony Entertainment Television’s popular show Bade Achhe Lagte Hain has taken a leap yet again. Pihu, played by Fenil Umrigar, is now a collegiate and she tells us how she may well be the central character of this long-running love story of a middle-aged couple.

Playing Pihu… how does that feel?

I am elated. Bade Achhe Lagte Hain is a flagship show and I am super excited to be a part of it. Also with this leap, Pihu becomes the central character so I have a lot to do. Like Pihu, I am a very honest and hardworking person. Let’s hope this stint is a success.

How did you bag the offer?

I got a call from the production house two months’ back saying that they had seen footage of BFF and wanted me to audition for Pihu. Since I couldn’t go to Mumbai then, I sent her a disc of my audition. I was not very hopeful that I would be selected. But when the person on the other side congratulated me, I was on cloud nine.

How many episodes have you shot till now?

We have only just begun. I did my first shot the day I came to sign my contract. It was with Ram Kapoor and I was super nervous. I even told him so. But he is a sweetheart. He assured me that I would do well. He helped me rehears my lines with him to make me feel at ease. I had to give quite a few retakes but he was very accommodating. He is a perfectionist.

And, Sakshi Tanwar?

She’s always been my role model. She is one of the finest actors in Tellywood. I wish I had 10 per cent of the talent she has. I have shot a couple of scenes with her wherein she is in a coma and I am talking to her. So we haven’t really communicated that much. But she keeps smiling at me whenever she sees me. That’s very warm gesture.

So, is Pihu going to have shades of grey?

She is like any other college girl. Sexy, smart and shrewd. She will continue to be the apple of her parents’ eyes. She loves her parents and siblings and can do anything for her family. But like every teenager, she will also have a slightly grey shade — she is a naughty and arrogant prankster. It is a believable character, someone you will relate to.

Where is BALH headed?

We have only been given the script for the first three episodes post the leap. The creative team will decide the rest of the content. As of now, the focus is Ram Kapoor who will has to take care of his three girls. There will be a lot of parenting issues and challenges on display and how he tackles those issues will be the crux.

What about the new twists and turns?

The show is going to be as exciting as before, if not more. There are going to be many twists. In the coming few weeks, the show will unravel what actually happened with Pihu at that prom night. That is going to be shocking and unnerving. We are hoping to garner maximum TRPs post this revelation.

But wasn’t the USP of the show the romance between a middle-aged couple?

Yes. But the show must go on and it can’t be focused on one thing all through. For a soap to thrive, the producers need to look for more angles. Like in Kyunkii… the show was only about Tulsi and Mihir to begin with but with time that changed. We saw more issues come to the fore. The same is going to be the case with BALH. The focus will now be on Ram-Priya’s children and what goes on in their lives.

Way forward

With Priya in coma and speculations rife that she may leave the show, it’s over to Ram and his daughters. In the coming episodes he will be shown parenting his children as a friend, father and guide. The show will also unveil what really happened with Pihu on prom night.

Ltd (HMSI) flagged off ‘Super bike Ride’ with Honda owners this weekend by organizing the first fun ride in India starting for its Super bike owners of – CB1000R, CBR1000RR, VT1300 CX & VFR 1200F from Mumbai to Nasik. Honda provided a platform to Honda Super bike owners to experience performance of their owned bikes and also an opportunity to interact and network with the fellow Honda owners.

A group of 25 Honda super bike owners rode together starting from Honda New Wing World Showroom, Andheri East, Mumbai. The riders rode out on their gleaming motorcycles to the Sula Vineyards in Nasik about 180Km from Mumbai. This highly enthusiastic group of super bikes riders included the VFR 1200F – 01 and 10 CB1000R & 14 CBR1000RR.

The one day ride for Honda Super bike owners was packed with morning tea at Udipi Shree Krishna, lush green environment and pleasant climate in Igatpuri on the way, breakfast at Manas Lifestyle Resort which ended at Sula- Vineyards, India’s most popular and most accessible winery. Honda also organized safety riding activities at the venue for its bike owners. The ride gave them a chance to take time out from their busy urban schedules and get out and enjoy fun ride with their fellow Honda superbikes owners on their motorcycles.

While reports state that wrestler – turned-actor Sangram Singh has been roped in for the second installment of JPDutta’s Border franchise, the makers confirm that there is no truth to the rumors and the search for the lead is still on.

If sources are to be believed ,the plot is based on Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, recipient of the Param Vir Chakra, India’s highest military decoration for valor in face of the enemy.

The makers are in the process of auditioning actors for the role ,alongside other big names like Sunny Deol and Suneil Shetty ,who have already been confirmed as part of the ensemble starcast.

FIRST LOOK: RAQT–EK RISHTA – Sept 27 release

All set for a September 27, all-India release, psycho-thriller Raqt – Ek Rishta sees Sheena Shahabadi in a totally different light.

Revolving around Sonia (Sweta Bharadwaj) and Suhani (Sheena shahabadi), the film is about the fatal obsession of an adopted daughter for her mother’s affection. Sonia is a single mother who adopts her sister’s daughter when her sister and brother-in-law die in an accident due to her carelessness.

Sonia, along with her maid Maria (Farida Jalal) pampers Suhani to not let her miss her parents. This has an opposite effect with Suhani developing an obsessive relationship with her. She will let nothing come between her and her mother.

Unaware of her child’s problem, Sonia becomes a careerwoman not focusing on her personal life beyond Suhani. She becomes a successful heroine. One day, Suhani sees Sonia and a friend arguing. She kills him, and Sonia takes the blame and is jailed for seven years.

Suhani is in a hostel and hates the ambience. She kills Bobby, a lesbian who wants her, but is saved by a medical report that states death due to drug overdose.

Sonia comes back and tries to make live easy for Suhani. She settles in a remote place, where psychiatrist Yuvaraj (Gulshan Grover) who likes Sonia discovers that Suhani has a major psychiatric problem. Suhani hates Yuvaraj’s attention towards Sonia and feels she will be sent to a hostel, again away from her mother. And she sees Yuvaraj learning the truth about her from Maria.

Suhani kills Maria. Yuvaraj who loves Sonia wants to help her and Suhani and tries and make this look like a normal death. But can he really help her? Will Yuvraj able to save himself and cure Suhani? Is there really a cure to this killer obsession?
