To mark the launch of its reinvigorated brand, CSR Monier is introducing a series of new additions to its product range, including a revolutionary new lightweight roofing material, an advanced colour-lock coating technology and a broader terracotta tile offering.

Unique finishes, enhanced installation options and next-generation technology are the key features in the new line-up. The new products will provide architects, designers, builders and homeowners throughout Australia with a wider scope of high-performance roofing materials to meet the diverse demands of client projects.

“We’ve spent the last few years working behind the scenes to get a clear understanding of what modern day homeowners want from their roof. These insights have formed the core of our product development and the new technology we are introducing today,” says Drew Spiden, General Manager of CSR Monier.

Elemental Series

“The hero of Monier’s new line-up is the Elemental Series,” says Mr Spiden.

“Originally developed for the aerospace industry, this lightweight yet exceptionally strong material is manufactured from an advanced fibre-reinforced engineered composite, is five times lighter than concrete tiles and can withstand up to 300kg of weight,” explains Spiden.

Offering a variety of performance features including rust resistance, a UV colour fast coating system and a strong resilience against dent and impact damage, the Elemental Series was designed to withstand Australia’s testing climate conditions.

Available in a selection of sizes and colours; the Elemental Series can be customised to meet the specific requirements of each project. The large Ultra Panels and the unique Square Panel options have been designed to complement the modern day Australian roof, achieving pitches as low as 10°.

The product’s innovative simple click ‘n’ fit system and lightweight makeup mean the tiles can be easily installed using existing tools and trades.

“We know that builders and trades are always on the lookout for products that are easy to work with and facilitate an efficient build. The Elemental Series click ‘n’ fit system really delivers on this,” adds Spiden.

Terracotta Range

With over 100 years of experience producing terracotta roof tiles from raw materials sourced from the Australian landscape, Monier is now adding four new colours to their terracotta range.

“The new products are an extension of the beautiful styles that already exist in Monier’s terracotta collection that customers and builders have come to love. Market feedback from our roofing partners in recent years has been that customers want more colour and design options for their roof – so we are responding with style,” says Mr Spiden.

Monier partnered with colour and design expert Kathy Demos to develop the new additions which include a metallic finish on two of the new profiles.

“The new colour additions, including the metallic options Mars and Comet, have allowed us to create a modern day interpretation of terracotta with an aesthetic homeowners would not expect from traditional terracotta tiles,” says Mr Spiden.

“Monier has also introduced a ‘Look Book’ to allow customers to experience the full range in a way which helps them visualise their own design. Our research has shown that consumers want to be able to picture and compare different style options and the ‘Look Book’ is a great tool that builders, architects and roofers can share with customers so they can collaboratively work together to achieve their dream design,” explains Spiden.

Long regarded as the premium tile in the roofing market, the terracotta tile offers a host of performance features including rust and salt spray resistance and insulation properties, however the tile’s impressive colour performance is the feature that continues to make it a favoured roofing option among consumers. The terracotta tile is the only roofing material that offers a lifetime colour guarantee.

Designed to meet Australia’s varied weather conditions, the terracotta tile is slow to heat up in hot conditions, allowing warm air to escape through the roof space, as well as being impervious to the effects of frost and ice.

Monier’s Terracotta tile comes with a 50 year colour and performance guarantee offering homeowners peace of mind that their roof will stand the test of time.

C-LOC

Monier is first to market with this advanced colour lock coating for concrete tiles. Independently tested to withstand the harsh Australian weather conditions, C-LOC is a second-generation coating innovation that significantly outperforms metal roofing products and other concrete roof tile coatings in preserving colour for longer against sun exposure and damaging weather conditions.

With a gloss retention that is eight times more effective than COLORBOND® Steel and five times more effective than concrete tiles with a solvent based coating, C-LOC helps preserve the colour of a concrete tile for longer.

Monier’s concrete tile range already includes performance features such as rust and corrosion resistance and C-LOC will help further increase the tile’s life cycle through enhanced colour performance, providing a durable product that delivers long term for the homeowner.

The 100 per cent water based coating also makes it an environmentally friendly choice.

“Your roof, depending on the pitch and lay of the land, can make up to 30 per cent of the visual impact of your home. If your roof fades, so too does the overall appearance of your property. We developed C-LOC technology to help homeowners keep their homes looking better for longer,” adds Spiden.

Monier’s C-LOC coating will first launch in Queensland with plans in development for further distribution across Australia next year.

“Monier is committed to raising the standards of roofing solutions in the Australian market and these latest innovations are the result of years of hard work from our dedicated research and development team.

“We are proud to be launching this new evolution in roofing and passionate about supporting the building and design community in delivering beautiful homes that provide long-term protection and performance for their customers,” concludes Spiden.
