Avonside Renewables, an Avonside Group Services’ business, has partnered with Solarcentury to be a National Reseller and Installer for the new build sector.

This will allow developers and national house builders to benefit from Avonside’s across-Britain coverage, roofing expertises and solar installation services, backed by Solarcentury’s extensive product design and engineering expertise.

Paul McLoughlin, Avonside Group Sales & Marketing Manager, explains:  “Avonside is home to one of Britain’s largest roofing contractors and makes significant investment in training its operatives so that they are expert in the installation of the latest technologies.  We enjoy a longstanding relationship with Solarcentury, stretching back to when the company introduced its first solar PV products.

“Over that time we have contributed our expertise to support Solarcentury’s aim of making solar more accessible and easier to install, as demonstrated by the award winning family of solar tiles and slates.

“The Avonside – Solarcentury relationship has proved to be so mutually beneficial that we have now entered into an agreement which plays to the strengths of both parties.  Avonside Group Services’ roofing division, Avonside Roofing, annually installs around 15,000 roofs to programme and to budget, taking account of behaviour required to achieve the Code for Sustainable Homes and drive to reduce C02 emissions.

“This level of successful activity was attractive to Solarcentury and so, under the terms of the agreement, Avonside Roofing business, Avonside Renewables, has been appointed as Solarcentury’s National Reseller for the new build sector.”

Solarcentury spearheaded the adoption of solar photovoltaics for the new build sector in the UK through its product innovation, industry leading design and project support tailored to the needs of the construction industry.  Now that PV has been embraced by mainstream construction, house builders are looking to move away from procuring PV separately but still want the reassurance that buying via traditional trades will neither sacrifice quality nor knowledge.

“As a national preferred installer for our C21e family of solar tiles and slates, Avonside is able to provide a complete package for house builders, ensuring a quality roof installation, including our solar tiles, slates and panels, through to full commissioning of the systems,” comments Martin White, Head of Distribution Marketing at Solarcentury.

“We are delighted to be able to appoint Avonside as a National Reseller for our range of products and services. As Paul has mentioned, our relationship goes back to the embryonic days of the solar market in the UK, when Avonside was among the vanguard of installers of C21e, our Queen’s Award winning range of Solar Tiles and Slates.

“With over 20 years’ roofing experience, Avonside delivers the skills, quality and knowledge that house builders and developers need.   Avonside Renewables, supported by its impressive branch network and the backing of Solarcentury’s extensive product design and engineering expertise, offers a complete, professional installation package.

“This new agreement provides economies of scale and straightforward procurement for the supply and installation of solar products and systems to the new build sector and places our relationship on an even stronger footing, to the benefit of all customers.”

Solarcentury’s C21 range of solar electric roof tiles, plain tiles and roof slates are fully integrated photovoltaic roofing products, designed for new build projects and subjected to the same wind, fire and weather testing as the roofing products they replace.

Solarcentury received a Queen’s Award for Enterprise for excellence in innovation for its unique C21e solar electric roof tile and slate design, which allows a roof to make money whilst still retaining a natural, traditional appearance.

Avonside Group Services is home to Britain’s largest roofing contractor, Avonside Roofing.  The business installs over 15,000 roofs a year, has an annual turnover in excess of £50 million and has 21 regional operations which are run from 16 locations across Britain.
