East Brunswick, NJ, May 13, 2014 - Mark Piatkowski, 2013 Eastern Region Rally America Champion driver, announced today that he will be competing nationally in a Super Production Class Subaru Impreza WRX STi for the 2014 Rally America Series. Piatkowski has been competing regionally in an Open Light Class Subaru Impreza 2.5RS in the Rally America Series since 2010. The move to the Super Production Class has been planned for some time.

“It was the only logical step forward. I’ve had a great time in Open Light, but it was time for a change,” Piatkowski said. “I am very excited to begin this new chapter, but I am well aware that in order to be competitive it will take time and experience.”

The 2004 Subaru Impreza WRX STi is just what the team wanted to take their first steps into the Super Production Class. Piatkowski is excited and up for the challenge.

“Although it is an older spec STi, I am more than confident that it can be competitive. The rest is all up to me,” Piatkowski said.

Co-driving for the MAP Rally Team this season will be Robert Maciejski who has sat alongside Piatkowski since 2011.

The MAP Rally Team will debut their new car, #35, at this month’s Susquehannock Trail Performance Rally May 30-31.
