In a book review of Mizz Goodie 2 Shoez in Cancer by Mamta Madhavan for Readers’ Favorite we learn,
“The author, Charoletta Anderson, has reached out skilfully to kids about the disease, which makes it easy for kids to understand it more clearly. The colorful illustrations make the book more interesting and attractive and breathe color, life and movement into the story. The author has done a great job in conveying details about the disease in a beautiful manner to young readers, in a very logical and clear way. It is a story that will touch the hearts of readers. It is a good book that can be used as a bedtime story book and also in children’s libraries and classrooms for readaloud sessions. It is not only educational and informative with a good concept, but also conveys a beautiful message to all readers about friendship and acceptance.”

Description of the Book
Houston-based, Ph.D. educated, working professional Charoletta Anderson stepped outside the box, set her imagination free and came up with an innovative story filled with colorful characters that teach children how to be savvy, sassy and street smart. The two newest books in her exquisitely illustrated Mizz Goodie 2 Shoez series are dedicated to helping children with autism and cancer. It futures Mizz Ballerina in severe pain and needed to go to the Shoe Hospital via Shoe ambulance and escorted by the Shoe Police. Mizz Ballerina is diagnosed with Autism and gains support from her other Shoe friend cartoon characters. Charly makes the use of her love of fashion and shoes, in particular, and creates a fun new way to teach children values, hope, courage, and the importance of honor and self-esteem.
The “Purpose” or Reason the Author Wrote It
My reason to write this book is to build self-esteem and raise physical and educational levels in a meaningful, lasting way for children affected by autism and cancer. This will come to fruition through the use of the various through the use of the various Mizz Goodie 2 Shoez and friends cartoon characters in the books. I believe we can change the world by investing in children one child at a time. Reading a book gives a child that one on one personal connection with the story line and characters especially as it may relate to their own life and diagnosis.
The Target Audience It Is For
Mizz Goodie 2 Shoez and friends cartoon characters in the books can be used in education programs and workshops for educators, families and all professionals working with children.
Excerpts from
MIZZ GOODIE 2 SHOEZ
IN”SHOE-AUTISM”
The shoe doctor has came in with my
shoe results.
Ohhhhhh my shoes!!!!! I have have been
diagnosed with “Shoe-Autism”.
Shoe-Austism affects boys more than
girls. Shoe family income, education, and
shoe lifestyle do not seem to affect the
risk of shoe-autism. So it does not matter
how much shoe money you have or what
color, size, height or shoe-weight you
come in it is unpredictable…
…Shoes with autism may:
Be overly sensitive in sight, hearing,
touch, smell, or taste (for example, they
may refuse to wear “itchy” clothes from
being distressed if they are forced to wear
the clothes).
MIZZ GOODIE 2 SHOEZ
IN CANCER
My name is “Miss Stockings”
and I have been diagnosed
with cancer…
…I’ve been admitted into the St.
Stockings Cancer Hospital
where they bring together a
team of experts that includes
specialist from many areas to
give you personal,
customized care.
Today I got the chance to see
all my friends. I was very
suprised to look up and see
them at the shoe hospital
after my procedure.
Mizz Goodie 2 Shoez was
correct when she said, “True
friends love you no matter
what.”
