A usually idyllic seaside resort in France has been transformed into a pseudo Hollywood Hills thanks to the 2014 Cannes Film Festival, a celebrity favorite.

While the stars line up in couture gowns on various red carpets, Cannes is equally as famous for playing host to over-the-top soirees where the rich and famous mix and mingle. And while we’re privy to pictures of Hollywood’s elite posing for the paps, we can’t help but wonder what kind of fun they have behind closed doors.

Which is precisely what sparked our decision to explore Cannes’ most frequented celebrity locales. Whether it’s the gorgeous promenades or exclusive yacht-parties, if you’re in the French island during the Cannes Film Festival, here’s where you can go to spot your favorite celebs!

1. The Marina – Cannes’ marina may be on the smaller side, but it clearly doesn’t stop the throngs of colossal yachts from dropping anchor. You’re bound to see a celebrity stepping off a fabulous boat during your stroll along the marina, and there are some ultra-glamorous yacht parties that you’d be lucky to attend!

2. Le Baoili – This restaurant, lounge and night-time hotspot has seen some of the most famous stars in the world! It’s a Cannes institution both during and after the film festival, as proven by the line of insanely expensive cars parked outside.

3. Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc – The fact that it’s the oldest hotel in Cannes is enough reason alone to make a visit, but it also happens to host the who’s who of Hollywood. If you’re lucky enough to score an invite to De Grisogono’s annual party, you’ll be rubbing elbows with movie stars and socialites alike.

4. Nikki Beach – Nikki Beach is the latest celebrity watering hole, and is the perfect place to hang out during the day. Bottles of champagne bubble over from day to night, and the Ibiza-inspired locale sees its fair share of the A-List unwinding.

5. La Croisette – This mile-long promenade hugs the shore, offering unbelievably beautiful views of the Mediterranean. Perfect for people watching, La Croisette also boasts tents and pop ups during the film festival for your perusal.
