A new club at Sparta High School sponsored a Community Health Fair Nov. 2 to educate students and community members about healthy living.
There were 15 local health care professionals and organizations that offered free healthcare screenings including blood glucose levels, blood pressure, dental, and eye, as well as CPR demonstrations and preventative medicine information.
HOSA is a national student organization for future health professionals that promotes career opportunities in the health care industry and enhances the delivery of quality health care to all people.
The Sparta High School HOSA Club started this school year and has 52 members. Students interested in joining should contact a member or adviser Britni Walz. The group has also helped to coordinate the annual blood drive and other health awareness events.
