I think you will know by now, especially if you follow me on instagram, that I have a thing for pastels. After reading Selina Lake’s – Pretty Pastel Style, I wanted everything in pale hues. I have to consciously reign myself in and put the paint pot down. I adore Jenna’s choice of bridesmaids gowns (who are all so beautiful!) and that campervan *heart eye emoji*.

(Jenna, may I also add you were a dream to blog, excellent hyperlinking!)

My wedding dress was from Ashley’s Bridal Boutique a lovely bridal shop in Faversham who will be celebrating its one year anniversary soon- I was one of its first customers and the owner Jane is great. http://www.ashleysbridal.co.uk/ / https://www.facebook.com/ashleysbridal?fref=ts

My shoes were from New Look

A special touch to our wedding was that later on in the evening I changed into some personalised trainers- my sister in law Sarah had covered a pair of white converse-style trainers in Diamante and changed the laces to ribbon so I would be comfortable dancing in them- Laura has pictures of them ☺

Bride’s hair accessories/veil - I wore a veil and a tiara and they were both from Ashley’s Bridal boutique

My hair, the bridesmaids and my mum’s hair was done by a friend called Jo Dawson who has been my Maid of Honour’s hairdresser for a long while so I knew she would be someone who we could trust. All our make-up was done by a friend I used to work with called Sharon Dosanjh- https://www.facebook.com/sharondhmua?fref=ts

Transport – (Have added this in as it deserves a special mention!): Bride, Father of the Bride and Bridesmaid arrives to the ceremony in a Pastel Pink VW Classic Splitscreen Camper called Poppy from http://coolclassiccars.co.uk/

Groom and guests arrived at the wedding and Bride, Groom and all guests travelled to the reception in a classic red Routemaster from http://www.omnibuzz.co.uk

Our wedding ceremony was at Dartford Manor Gatehouse http://www.akentishceremony.com/kcc-register-offices/the-manor-gatehouse and our reception was at Barnehurst Golf Club http://www.mytimeactive.co.uk/golf/centres/barnehurst/default.aspx

My Maid of Honour and my three lovely bridesmaids (two of my best friends and my sister in law) all wore identical dresses in different pastel colours and they were all from a website called My Angel Star – http://www.myangelstar.co.uk/ I came across them initially as they have an ebay shop and had the exact style dress I wanted, and they were so good that one of my best friends who got married before me ordered her bridesmaid dresses from there as well!

All shoes and accessories were the bridesmaids own- I let them wear what they wanted to keep them comfortable!

Looking down to put the wedding ring on Lee’s finger to discover he had my name tattooed on his wedding finger- as a builder he won’t be able to wear his ring all day every day so wanted to have an alternative option!

Grooms outfit was hired from http://www.suited-well.co.uk/

The amazing Laura Debourde Photography ☺ http://www.lauradebourdephotography.com/ Laura used to work with some good friends of mine and was recommended to me- Me and my partner met with her and knew straight away we didn’t need to look any where else!

My wedding cake was made by the fantastic Shelley’s cakes- http://www.shelleyscakes.com/ Shelley is a good friend of ours and also is the mum of one of my best friends and bridesmaid (Kirstie- she was the one in the Coral pink dress)

Our Wedding originally started off with a seaside theme (Fish and chips was one of the main course choices, part of the wedding favours was rock and we had one of those cardboard photo booths where people could stick their faces through!). However, as our planning progressed it evolved and became the more general theme of Pastel- all colours of pastel. Our chair covers and décor was multi-coloured pastel, as were the bridesmaid dresses and best man’s cravats!

The table plan was made by myself and my bridesmaid Laura and my sweet tree centre-pieces were made by myself and my bridesmaid/ Sister- in- law Sarah.

Our balloons and other decoration was provided by the brilliant High Flying Balloons (http://highflyingballoons.co.uk/ )

All of our food was provided by Barnehurst Golf Club- guests could choose from main courses of fish, chips and mushy peas, pie, mash and Liquor or vegetable tart- all served in seaside style cardboard boxes! Our dessert was a selection of flavoured ice creams with all the trimmings- chopped nuts, sprinkles, marshmallows and an array of different sauces!

Drink wise, aside from the bar at Barnehurst we brought out own wine from France for the reception dinner and the toasts- guests received Bucks Fizz upon arrival.

Each guest had a silver bag containing 2 drinks tokens and a packet of personalised “Mr and Mrs Wells” Love hearts. They also had a tin of different flavours of rock from the wonderful Spun Candy based in Covent Garden (http://www.spun-candy.com/)

Little people at the wedding also had a wedding themed colouring book with Crayons.

Each table had a sweet tree as the centrepiece with pear drops, fudge or chocolate éclairs (head table had Ferrero Rocher!) and guests were encouraged to eat and swap!

Our flowers were done by my Mother in Law Debbie Wells- she used to own a florist and although she doesn’t practice floristry anymore, she still loves flowers and plants and offered to do this for us as a very personal touch. I wanted my flowers to have a range of pastel colours and to look like someone had just scooped them all up from a meadow.

We spent around £13k on our wedding altogether

Our DJ and entertainment were provided by Kevin Hockins who runs a mobile Disco and Entertainment service called All Night Long- Kevin is a friend of dad’s and he did a fantastic job getting everyone up on the dance floor and staying there all evening. Plus he took the role of Master of Ceremonies and was great at getting all of our guests laughing and organised at the right moments. - Definitely accept offers of help from family and friends- At first I wanted to keep it all to ourselves so it was all a surprise to our guests but the help from a few of our loved ones saved us so much time, stress and money.

- Keep a spreadsheet to track payments, deadlines and costs- helps keep the stress levels down when you get to a month before the wedding and everything needs to get paid!

-Have a couple of wedding free days- there is a lot to do but you need to have a day off sometimes to keep yourself relaxed.
