Atlanta Ballet: Carmino Real
Inspired by the 1953 Tennessee Williams play of the same name, the story is told from the perspective of Kilroy, a character based on patriotic iconography from the WWII era. The work grapples with human mortality, the burning desire to connect, and the will to live. Atlanta Ballet has commissioned a brand new score for this full-evening ballet, which will be performed live by the Atlanta Ballet Orchestra.
Friday, Mar. 20 – Sunday, Mar. 22 • 2 p.m. & 8 p.m. • Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre (2800 Cobb Galleria Pkwy) • atlantaballet.com
Pentatonix
A Capella has seen a massive resurgence of interest over the past couple of years, due in large part to movies like Pitch Perfect. At the forefront of this revival is Pentatonix, a five-piece who put their own meticulously in-tune spin on everything from Katy Perry to Marvin Gaye, with a Daft Punk mash-up/medley quickly becoming their signature number.
