Twenty20, or T20, is the explosive, short-form version of cricket that mixes sporting drama with a party atmosphere, making it a fantastic summer event for all the family. To illustrate the point, who can forget the dramatic finish to the T20 World Cup Final between England and West Indies back in April. Played in front of a packed house of all ages in Kolkata, West Indies needed 19 off the last over to win, but Carlos Brathwaite stepped up to hit four straight sixes to break English hearts – surely one of the most dramatic and gripping finishes to a match in the history of sport, let alone cricket!

You can experience some of the drama of T20 here in south London at the Kia Oval, where Surrey take part in The NatWest T20 Blast, played between the 18 leading counties in two leagues, southern and northern. Some of the biggest names in cricket take part and Surrey have the dynamic West Indian all-rounder Dwayne Bravo, one of the most exciting and charismatic players in the global game. Dwayne played in that final against England, putting in a great performance, taking three wickets and scoring 25 runs.

Surrey’s match against Essex this Saturday, 25th June, will be a special family day at the Kia Oval so, as well as the on-field entertainment, there’ll be plenty more activities for children to enjoy in the Kids Fan Zone, including face painting, player autograph signings, free giveaways, a visit from Caesar the Lion and a chance to pit their cricketing skills against mum or dad. There’s also a special seating area reserved for families. Kids go for a quid while family tickets (2 adults & 2 children) are just £40.
