FALL RIVER, Mass. — Southcoast™ Health System has named Cheryl Thompson as Program Director of the Southcoast Wound Care Center. In her new role, Thompson oversees the operations of the outpatient wound clinic and hyperbaric care services at Charlton Memorial Hospital. She is also responsible for implementation and strategic growth of the program, including maintaining a collaborative relationship with the hospital and its community resources.

The Southcoast Wound Care Center is the region's first comprehensive wound care center, offering all of the latest technology and treatment in wound care, including hyperbaric oxygen therapy, in one convenient and comprehensive setting. The Southcoast Wound Care Center provides advanced wound care therapies utilizing best practice clinical guidelines to promote wound healing and improve the quality of patient lives in the South Coast community. The Southcoast Wound Care Center is located at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River.

Before joining Southcoast, Thompson was Director of Clinical Services for Personal Touch Home Care Services in Dartmouth. She previously worked for multiple Medicare-certified home health agencies in Connecticut.

Thompson holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Massachusetts in Dartmouth. She also is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, Theta Kappa Chapter since 1991.

Thompson resides in Lakeville, with her husband, Brian, with their two children.
