When one walks through the 1300m² factory of JB Furniture Manufacturers (formerly JB Woodworking) in Knysna’s Industrial Area, it is immediately clear that owners Kimberley Snook and Russel Burland are running a very slick operation. The airy workspace is impeccably well-organised; from the neat stacks of raw timber planks near the entrance, right through to the final wrapped product, it is quite evidently a seamless operation.

Rob Caskie will entertain and enthral at the Knysna Literary Festival

Don’t miss South Africa’s most powerful storyteller, Rob Caskie, at this year’s Knysna Literary Festival. Caskie’s presentation, “Race to the Pole” on Sunday, 20 March, promises to provide wonderful entertainment as he describes the fantastic duel between Robert Scott of the Royal Navy and supreme polar explorer, Roald Amundsen from Norway, which ended starkly with the death of Scott’s entire party.

Soccer players from Knysna’s CX United Soccer Academy, and several others from as far afield as Port Elizabeth are shining their boots in anticipation for the Liverpool Football Club (LFC) International Academy of South Africa’s 2-Day Soccer Schools’ Programme, which is set to take place on the 23 & 24 March at Loerie Park Stadium in Knysna.

The journey of a Slow Tourism Route

On the 18th February at Pelican Lodge in Sedgefield, Knysna & Partners entered into the first round of discussions with several business and possible stakeholders about the proposed development of a Slow Tourism Route, which will integrate with the Sedgefield Slow Town concept. The fact that Sedgefield is already established as the Slow Town of Africa, lends itself perfectly to the establishment of a route of this nature.
