Vans, the original action sports footwear and apparel company, infuses its Classics heritage with weatherized product innovation to launch Mountain Edition Footwear. Vans evolves two iconic silhouettes to introduce the Era MTE and Sk8-Hi MTE, advanced footwear forms that have been upgraded with the forthcoming winter weather in mind for all-season wear. In addition to the debuting the seven-piece footwear collection, Vans presents an updated range of Mountain Edition Apparel.

Designed for the elements, Vans Mountain Edition Footwear upgrades the Era and Sk8-Hi from the ground up. Starting at the foundation, the original waffle sole is revamped with a build that utilizes more than two decades of Vans’ snow boot heritage. The newly constructed lug outsole reverses the mold and extends the rubber traction for maximum grip in wet terrains and snow. Moving onto the interior build, the Era MTE and Sk8-Hi MTE are lined with fleece materials and secured with heat retention layer between outsole and sockliner to keep feet warm and dry. Exterior features such as premium Scotchgard™-treated uppers and gusseted tongue repel liquid and moisture from the surface and internal compartments of each shoe. The Era MTE and Sk8-Hi MTE debut in Black, Dress Blues and Glazed Ginger colorways with an additional Sk8-Hi MTE color-up designed in collaboration with Vans team rider and snowboarding legend, Jamie Lynn.

Vans Mountain Edition Apparel returns with an updated range of Rutherford Mountain Edition jackets. Created with snowboarding in mind, the streetwear-inspired Rutherford jacket pays close attention to fit and comfort, applying functional material treatments to a staple silhouette to perform on and off the mountain. The heavyweight, varsity-styled form employs water-resistant properties across three new color combinations – New Charcoal/Black, Ensign Blue/Rubber and Eclipse/Bone White – for the winter months.

Vans launches the Mountain Edition Footwear and updated Apparel offering with a special fall lookbook featuring Vans Snow team riders Darrell Mathes, Jake Kuzyk and Zac Marben. Taking MTE product to the outdoors, Mathes, Kuzyk and Marben tested the upgraded features against different terrains. Athlete approved, the Mountain Edition collection will be available at Vans.com, Vans retail locations and wholesale accounts globally this September.
