I’ve been using this since it came out. Haven’t had a lot of luck with the 3d part yet, however the normal encoding of videos works quite well. Compression(reduction of physical size from raw) is superior to other video conversion software I used. I haven’t uploaded any of my conversions to my Kindle yet(the reason I downloaded this in the first place) but regular encoding is great, no pixelation unless there was on the source video.

Q1. I am advised that the registration code is invalid and gave me the Error Code 4104. How to fix that?
This is due to the limited License you got. If you use it on more than two computers, there will be Error 4104. As for this issue, you can contact the customer service to request reset the registration code for you.
Q2. Could this software convert my DVD to other formats?
This software can convert homemade DVD to any 2D/3D video formats, but not for commercial DVDs/protected DVDs.
Please confirm if your dvd is a homemade one.
Q3. I bought a new Mac machine because my old windows PC have crashed. Can I register this software on my new machine?
Most of our products have two versions – Win/Mac. And each version must be used on the corresponding system. Aiseesoft Video Converter Ultimate only can be used on the windows system. Digital rights management (DRM) is a term for accessing control technologies to limit the use of digital content or devices. Our program still cannot support remove DRM protection.
Q5. Why does the program failed to load files?
1). make sure that the file format is supported.
2). make sure that the video file is not damaged.
3). make sure that the files play well on the computer, and save them to a local disc with simple file name, like C: usertest.mp4.
If this doesn’t work, please contact us with a copy of one file you use for analysis.
Q6. What should I do if I want to play the output file on my new iPad Air?
Firstly, import the source file to the program, then select “Profile/Settings>Apple iPad>iPad Air H.264 HD Video/iPad Air H.264 720P Video/iPad Air MPEG 4 Video” for the latest iPad Air. Or you can also directly input the profile’s name to find the exact format.
Q7. What is the difference between the trial version and the registered version?
The trial version and registered version is the same product and has the same functions, except for the limitations below:
1), for the more than 5 minutes file, you could only convert 5 minutes of it.
2), for the less than 5 minutes file, you could only convert half of it.
After purchasing it, you will enjoy the full version.
Q8. How to take a snapshot from a playing video?
In Preview window on main interface, while the video is playing, click the Snapshot button(the camera sign) to take a picture. Then you can click the Open Snapshot Folder button (on the right of the Snapshot button) to find the picture you just take.
Q9. How to convert a common video to another format?
To convert one video to another format, you can follow the steps below:
1), add the video into the software using the “Add File” button.
2), select an output format from the “Profile” list on the bottom of the interface. Alternatively, you can click “Settings” to set the parameters.
3), click “Convert” to start the conversion process.
4), after the conversion has finished, you can click “Open Folder” to open the folder containing the created file.
Q10. How to merge all the videos into one file?
1), click the “Add Files” or “Load DVD” button to load source media.
2), select “Merge into one file” on the bottom of the interface.
3), choose one output format on the bottom “Profile/Settings” section of the program, and click “Convert” to start conversion.
The program will merge all files on the file list into one after conversion.
Q11. How to change effect for the video?
After import the source file, click the “Edit” button to open the video edit window. Click “effect” tab, select the effect you want and click “OK” to apply it.
Note: You can tick Deinterlacing if the output video has distorted line.
Q12. How to crop the video?
To trim a segment from a video, click the “edit >Crop” tab, move your mouse pointer onto one of the eight points of the rectangle box and drag the dashed line to crop the video. There also has “crop area” for you to choose. You can preview it on the output preview window.
You can select an output aspect ratio in the crop window. There are four choices available: Original, Crop area, 16:9 and 4:3.
You can set the Zoom Mode: Letterbox, Medium, Pan Scan and Full.
Q13. What shall I do if my program crash/freeze when I open it?
Generally, the Black Bar Problem will occur when the aspect ratio of the source video is not the same as that of the output video or the aspect ratio of the converted file is not the same with your media player. You can follow the steps below to remove black bar in converted video files.
1. If the aspect ratio of the source video is the one you want, please click the Settings button, choose the output format from Profile and set the resolution same as your original file. You also need to set Edit > Crop > check Keep Original option.
2. If the aspect ratio of the source file is not the one you want, please select the required resolution on the Settings window and Edit > Crop > set Zoom Mode as Full Screen. You need to crop your video first is there is originally a black bar.
3.You can click Edit > Crop > set Zoom Mode as Full Screen, and use the yellow Crop Frame to remove black bar or unwanted parts of your video.
Q14. How to speed up the conversion?
A: There are quite a few factors influencing the duration of conversion:
1. The length and size of the original file
2. Settings for output files
3. Computer configuration
B: Here we can provide you some tips that may speed up conversion:
1. Hide the preview when converting.
2. Do not make other operations on the computer when converting.
3. Make the output file on local hard disk, set the output directory on your computer will save you some time.
4. The higher parameter of resolution, frame rate the source video has, the longer it takes to convert it.
5. Conversion speed has relationship with the profile settings. Convert DVD/video to HD video or general video will cost different time and get different sizes. If you want to speed up the conversion, you can choose or customize the Minimum parameters of Resolution and Video Bitrate, but the quality of your video may be affected.
Q15. What is 5.1 channels and how to get it?
5.1 channels, namely 5.1 surround sound, is the common name for six channel surround sound multichannel audio systems. It uses five full bandwidth channels and one low frequency enhancement channel. These are all common 5.1 systems: Dolby Digital, Dolby Pro Logic II, DTS and SDDS. 5.1 is also the standard surround sound audio component of digital broadcast and music.
All 5.1 systems use the same speaker channels and configuration, having a front left and right, a center channel, and two surrounds.
How to get 5.1 channels?
To export 5.1 channels with high quality, you need to make sure there is 5.1 channels in the source file first and use the following way to choose formats with 5.1 channels.
1. Load the file into the program and select MOV, M4V, MP4 AVC, MKV or HD as your output format from the Profile drop-down list.
2. Click the Settings button to open Profile Settings Window.
3. You can choose 5.1 channels option from the Channel drop-down list.
4. Click the OK button to save the settings and the 5.1 channels will take effect after conversion.
Q16. How to trim a section from a video?
To trim a segment from a video, you can use the way below.
1. Click the Edit button besides the added file. In the pop up Clip window, click Trim tab, drag the sliders under the progress bar to mark the beginning and end of the segment you want to trim.
2. The trimmed video will appear below the main window. Click the Trim button to trim it and click OK to apply the changes.
Q17. How to reduce the size of output file?
The output file size depends on the source file length and the output settings. To reduce the output file size, please click the Settings button.
If you still want the output size smaller, you can set the parameters on the window lower, including bit rate, resolution, and frame rate.
Note that lowering output settings will reduce output quality to some degree.
Q18. How to add the format to User Defined?
Beside output profile drop-download list, there is a Save As button, if you want to add your formats to User Defined, you can click the Save As to rename and save it. It will be marked as your favorite one and presented under User Defined tag in output profiles list.
Q19. How to get the audio track I need in the converted video?
If there are multiple audio tracks in the original video file, you can select the audio track in the drop-down list of the audio.
For example, if the video files have two audio tracks, English and French, please choose English audio track from audio track list if you want to retain English audio track after conversion.
After conversion, the converted video file will retain the audio track with the one you choose.
Q20. Can I modify the brightness and contrast of the video image?
This program enables you to modify video image’s brightness, contrast and other settings easily. Please just select the video file you need and click Edit – Effects button on the toolbar to open ‘Effect’ window. Here you can adjust the value of the brightness/contrast/saturation according to your needs.
