Dhaka Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education:
The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Dhaka, an autonomous organization, mainly responsible for holding two public examinations (SSC & HSS) and for providing recognition to the newly established non-govt. educational institutions and also for the supervision, control and developments of those institutions.
According to the ordinance of the board, The East Pakistan Intermediate and Secondary Education Ordinance, 1961 (East Pakistan Ordinance No. XXXIII of 1961) and its amendments No. XVI of 1962 and No. XVII of 1977, it is responsible for the organization, regulation, supervision, control and development of Intermediate and Secondary level public examinations and educational institutions.

Rajshahi

According to the East Pakistan Intermediate and Secondary Education Ordinance, No.XXXIII of 1961 and its amendments No. XVI of 1962 and No. XVII of 1977, the Board is responsible for the organization, regulation, supervision, control and development of Intermediate and Secondary level public examinations and educational institutions.
The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Rajshahi was founded in the year 1961, which led to the complete split of northern Bangladesh (earst while East Pakistan) from administrative and educational control of the Dhaka Education Board at the Secondary and Intermediate level. In pursuance of the Presidential proclamation of the 7th October, 1958 and having received previous instructions from the President. The Governor was pleased to make and promulgate the ordinance of 1961 vide no. XXXIII-1961. This ordinance is called the Intermediate and Secondary Education Ordinance 1961.

Comilla:
According to the ordinance of the board, The East Pakistan Intermediate and Secondary Education Ordinance, 1961 (East Pakistan Ordinance No. XXXIII of 1961) and its amendments No. XVI of 1962 and No. XVII of 1977, it is responsible for the organization, regulation, supervision, control and development of Intermediate and Secondary level public examinations and educational institutions.
The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE), Comilla, has been established in the year 1962 under The East Pakistan Intermediate and Secondary Education (Amendment) Ordinance, 1962.

Jessore:
The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Jessore was established in 1963 in the month of October by the Govt. order no 737 Education, dated 30-09-1963 under the section of the then east pakistan ordinance no XXXIII of 1961. The Board had no buildings of its own during the period of establishment. It started functioning in the hostel of junior Teachers’ Training College, Jessore. Then its name was “Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Khulna Division, Jessore. In 1965 it was named as Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Jessore.

Chittagong:
Welcome to Chittagong Education Board. It was established on 15th May, 1995 and commenced functioning from 1st July, 1995 for strengthen and expansion of supervision of Secondary Education and Higher Secondary Education Examinations.

Barisal
Barisal Education Board (SR and no 250 law -99) Branch -11/(1) 98- ISEO) deals with schools and colleges of the Districts, Barisal, Patuakhali, Bhola. Pirojpur. Barguna and Jhalakathi of Barisal Division. It was established on August 23,1999/ Bhadra 08, 1406 according to Section 03 A(1) of 1961 Ordinance. Barisal Education Board is established to hold S.S.C and H.S.C examinations and to ensure the registration process easier for the students of Secondary and Higher secondary level of this region. It was very difficult and expensive for the teachers of this region to go to Jessore Board for Completing their necessary official activities. As a result Barisal Secondary and higher secondary Education Board was established. Its first working day was on November 16,1999.

Sylhet:
According to the ordinance of the board, The East Pakistan Intermediate and Secondary Education Ordinance, 1961 (East Pakistan Ordinance No. XXXIII of 1961) and its amendments No. XVI of 1962 and No. XVII of 1977, it is responsible for the organization, regulation, supervision, control and development of Intermediate and Secondary level public examinations and educational institutions. The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE), Sylhet, has been established in the year 1999.

Objectives and Focus-
Its objective is to provide quality service in Secondary and Higher Secondary level of education specially in conducting examinations and to maintain the standard of educational institutions. For these reasons, it introduced computerized system in result processing and registration, international standard grading system, result publication through website and so on.Its focuses are improvement inspection and providing assistance in forming managing committees of schools and colleges, controlling student enrollment in schools and colleges, improvement in physical education and sportsmanship of students and organization of two important public examinations- S.S.C. (Secondary School Certificate) and H.S.C. (Higher Secondary Certificate) Examinations under Sylhet Board. It also gives scholarships to meritorious students based on the results.

Madrasah:

According to the ordinance of the board, The Madrasah Education Ordinance, 1978 (Ordinance No. IX of 1978), it is responsible for the organization, regulation, supervision, control and development and improvement of Dakhil, Alim, Fazil and Kamil level public examinations and educational institutions.
The Madrasah Education Ordinance made by the President of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh on the 27th February, 1978. As soon as may be after the commencement of this Ordinance, the Government shall, notification by Ministry of Law and Parliamentary affairs on 2nd March 1978, establish a board called Bangladesh Madrasah Education Board. Furquania, Ibtedayee, Dakhil, Alim, Fazil and Kamil Madrasah in all over the country were under control of that board.

Technical

Bangladesh Technical Education Board (BTEB), Dhaka, an autonomous organization. BTEB is playing an important role for human resource development. BTEB has a role for setting quality standard, quality control and development of technical education in Bangladesh. BTEB is always looking for appropriate training for the youth, which is helpful for job searching and for self-employment and to adjust the changing situation in the job market with the rapid change of technology. Responsibility of BTEB is to holding two public examinations [S.S.C (Vocational) & H.S.C (BM)] and other 73 examinations of different curriculum and providing recognition of the newly institutions and also supervision control and development of all institutions under the Board.
