Finding new and exciting things to do can be hard. So when I was invited to the Medieval Times – Buena Park Castle, I could not say yes fast enough. This was going to be an amazing opportunity to check out a unique and different type of dinner show. If you have never been to a Medieval Times dinner show I would strongly encourage it. Here is a little about the show from the company website,

When you arrive, you are assigned a “section” which correlates to a color, we were given the amazing Red Knight. We all received crowns, and made our way to the hall. This was a fun area where we were able to explore a little of the caste, get a drink at the bar, and shop.
Once in the arena we quickly made our way down to our seats, we scored the front row, which was amazing! At each seat we had red banners, our soup cups, plate, drink cup, napkin…. but ummmmm no fork, spoon, knife. WOW, we were in for an adventure for sure.

We were quickly greeted by our server and our adventure had really begun, they all talk as if they were from the medieval time making the experience that much more enjoyable and memorable. First on the menu was an amazing tomato soup, and garlic bread, we did have to “drink” our soup. After that we received chicken, ribs and half of a potato, again all of which we had to eat with our hands. It was a lot of fun, we all laughed, eat and enjoyed the show. You will receive a LOT of food, but don’t worry they offer togo boxes and bags. After the “dinner” we received large wet napkins so we could clean up and get ready to receive a warm, yummy, apple turnover. The food was amazing, and better than expected. But the best part was the amazing show. Complete with knights, king, princess, horses, and more. Here is the Green Knight with some of his “people” behind him.
We were all encouraged to cheer on our knight and watch all the amazing thing that they would have done and competed in back in the medieval days. We really felt like we went back in time once we received our crowns and entered the castle.
The horses in the show were able to perform and do some amazing tricks. We were all in awww of the amazing animals, and the handlers that made this show possible. I had never seen a horse “bow” like this before. This for me was one of the awww moments of the show. After all the “civil” activity the knights quickly got ready for battle. While the battle was on a nets were down to insure that we “the people” were all safe, but able to cheer on our knights. This amazing photo was provided by the Medieval Times because it was hard to obtain good photos with the net down.

I am so thankful that we received this amazing opportunity to visit the castle and experience the Medieval Times. If you are looking for a fun Birthday Dinner, Anniversary Dinner, or even just because consider visiting the castle. The Cheering Banners really help you cheer for your knight and get more involved with the show. My daughter loved waving them around. And keep your eyes on your knight because during the show he throws our flowers, selects his queen of the tournament and more. My daughter was the LUCKY Red Knight Queen of the Tournament and received a beautiful “sash”. It really was a night we will remember for a LONG LONG time.
