Greetings Georgetown Family,
WOW! What an amazing Friday we had last week! International Day was so much fun…and so tasty! Our Hoyas had a chance to taste incredible foods, watch fabulous performers, and hear beautiful music from around the world! HUGE HOYA HUGS go out to our World Language Instructors, parents, and staff who made this possible! It was BRILLIANT!
Here’s what’s happening this week…
SPELLING – Spelling tests will continue to be on Tuesdays. TIP: Take a photo of your child’s spelling words to study over the weekend since homework folders do not go home on Fridays. Watch for new homework menu this week!
READING – HOYAS are to read out loud to an adult for 20 minutes daily. This can include practicing Sight Words and reviewing Science or Social Studies Notes. Check out our LINKS page for the new Sight Word List & Passages.
MATH – Double-digit addition without regrouping – Math Test is on Wednesday, April 13th.
SCIENCE – Butterfly Quiz is Wednesday, April 13th.
MINIMUM DAY – Thursday, April 14th is a minimum day with dismissal at 12:30 PM for all students so that professors and staff can prepare for PARENT APPRECIATION NIGHT! Be sure to RSVP!
OPA SPIRIT WEAR DAY – Friday, April 15th – Show your school pride by wearing your OPA gear!
FIELD TRIP – Tuesday, April 26th – More info will go home this week!
SPRING BOOK FAIR – We will visit the Book Fair twice this week; once to make our wish list, then to make purchases. Hoyas can also make purchases after school but must be accompanied by a parent.
SAVE THE DATE – MONDAY APRIL 18th – UNIVERSITY PRESENTATION – Our HOYAS will be presenting facts about Georgetown and singing our Fight Song at the Monday Morning Pep Rally! Parents are invited to come! More info coming soon!
GOLF TOURNAMENT – Honour Society has extended the early bird deadline for the Golf Tournament to Thursday, April 21st! The price will remain $150 until that date. Sign up now at OPASOC.com if you are interested in playing golf or attending the After Party on May 6th!
GOLF BALL SALES – Please continue selling Golf Balls! It is our hope that every student sells at least ten (10) golf balls. Each $10 dollar golf ball is a chance to win $2,500.
BOX TOPS – Check the junk drawer, check the couch, call Grandma… and Bring in those Box Tops!
