These micro sculptures are unbelievable. I can't even begin to think about how many hours went into carving each one!
Russian artist Salavat Fidai created these amazing little sculpture by whittling away at pencil lead with an X-ACTO knife. Each mark is extremely visible and there isn't much of a margin for error. As you can imagine, mistakes are extremely obvious when it comes to carving soft lead!
Fidai has used pencils to sculpt everything from human hands to skulls to the Eiffel Tower! And when he isn't carving pencils, Fidai has been known to make some equally amazing micro sculptures with seeds and matchboxes.
