Livigno, Italy, 10th of March 2014 – The world’s best female snowboarders will be heading to Livigno, Italy for the Nine Queens presented by O’Neill from March 26th - 30th, 2014. The event recently moved from Austria to Italy in the hunt for the large masses of snow necessary to build the huge snow castle set up. After the Sochi mayhem and the world tour wrap up in Vail, the riders can finally enjoy five days of fun, stress free sessions on the gigantic structure at Mottolino Fun Mountain. With the likes of Jamie Anderson (USA) and Jenny Jones (GBR) present the big air super session on the 29th of March will be a showdown not to miss.

The Schneestern shapers are working flat out to build the most eclectic feature of all time. They had already begun the construction of the men’s Nine Knights event set-up, making the last-minute shift of the ladies’ event to Livigno possible. The “castle” setup is state-of-the-art and in addition to two huge kickers it integrates a halfpipe and heaps of jib obstacles, offering numerous lines and transitions.

The name of the game is progression and with some of the world’s best riders heading to Mottolino we are in for some first class action. Jamie Anderson confirmed her attendance and with her recent US Open slopestyle victory and Olympic gold, she is on top of her game. Ready to push the boundaries at Nine Queens will also be Enni Rukajärvi (FIN), Jenny Jones (GBR), Spencer O’Brien (CAN), Silje Norendal (NOR), as well as, newcomer Anna Gasser (AUT), who this winter has claimed fame for her cab double cork, a trick that is at the hight of progression for women. The “Wanna be a Queen” online Video Contest deadline has been extended to March 14th, so send in your clips for a chance to become one of the female riders taking part in this unique event.

After a few days of shooting and warming up on the obstacle, Saturday March 29th will see the queens compete in front of the public eye for the coveted unofficial title “Queen of the World”. Running from 10am to 3pm join us for a feast of snowboarding excellence and maybe even some never before landed tricks. If you want to celebrate with the ladies after, head to the Nine Queens Afterparty at Miky’s Pub on Sunday evening on the 30th of March. See you all there!
