KCCA FC midfielder Hassan Wasswa has been dropped for Uganda’s friendly match against Zambia.

A list of 25 players dominated by foreign-based stars with only 7 home players to face former African champions Zambia in a friendly on March 5 in Zambia has no trace of the star.

There was no space also for Turkish based midfielder Martin Mutumba though Kampala City Council players Ivan Ntege, Brian Majwega and Tony Odur alongside Kenyan based trio Dan Sserunkuma, Jaja Walusimbi and Baba Kizito are included in the team yet they will be busy preparing for individual CAF Champions League engagements for their clubs.

Surprisingly, Vipers SC striker Yunus Sentamu who scored three goals for Uganda at CHAN 2014 finals in South Africa is left out.

Sweden based winger Sula Matovu returns to the team after some absence while Tusker FC midfielder Aucho Khalid earns a spot in the squad following his brilliance display at CECAFA 2013 Challenge Cup.

In their last meeting at the same Stadium in a 2013 AFCON qualifier, the Chipolopolo beat Cranes 1-0, while the game in Kampala went into penalties that the visitors won after the home side has also won 1-0.

Uganda who failed to go past the group stages of the 2014 Africa Nations Championship, will use the game as one of the build-ups as they prepare their team for the 2015 AFCON qualifiers where they will have to advance in the preliminary round to make it to the group stage.

The players are expected to start preparations on March 3rd when the team is trimmed to 18.
