Governor Larry Hogan today joined MGM National Harbor President Lorenzo Creighton, as well as top MGM officials and Prince George’s County Executive Rushern Baker, to celebrate the grand opening of MGM National Harbor, a new destination resort located in the National Harbor waterfront development in Prince George’s County. “It is exciting to see a respected, world-renowned brand like MGM make such a significant investment in the future of Prince George’s County and the state of Maryland,” said Governor Hogan. “MGM National Harbor will have a tremendous economic impact on this region, and our administration has been proud to fully support this important project.” MGM National Harbor is creating 4,000 new permanent jobs to operate the resort, as well as 6,000 construction jobs. The project is expected to have a significant lasting economic impact on Maryland, Prince George’s County, and the Capital Region, attracting visitors from Washington, D.C., neighboring states, across the country, and around the world. MGM National Harbor was awarded a license to operate the sixth casino in the State of Maryland in December 2013.
