A 25-year-old Laurel man who is blessed with the kind of Lottery luck many players dream of is $10,000 richer after buying the first Maryland Lottery scratch-off in his life. The construction worker, who plans to spend his prize on a vacation trip and playing more Lottery games, said he and his cousins were dropping a friend off at Baltimore Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport when he ran across his lucky 10x Cash scratch-off. The group had stopped at the Lansdowne Citgo in Baltimore to gas up their vehicle. While at the store, which is located at 2810 Hammonds Ferry Road, the men talked the lucky novice into buying a scratch-off. At first, he wanted to select two $5 tickets but they convinced him to spend $10 on one 10x Cashscratch-off. He did and they drove off. After arriving at home, before they got out of the car, the men watched the winner scratch off the ticket and tried to determine if he had won. “I had no idea,” he said. The Prince George’s County man is the latest top-prize winner in the 10x Cash scratch-off game, which debuted July 25. The game has 112 top prizes remaining.
